The game looks really awesome, for only a few months of work it already looks like the kind of Early Access game I could get on steam and some of them have been worked on for years! I love the way your building works, hanging them off sky islands is really awesome looking, can't wait to see how it progresses :D

Will there in the future be some sort of game modding, like users can create mods for the game. Otherwise it looks so good, reminds me of minecraft, but in a MUCH better way, keep up the good work bud
@haubna5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would love to support modding. But it purely depends on how many people will play the game. If there will be enough I will be making a modding API for sure!

Wow looks amazing! question: where did you learn to do all of this? also are you planning on doing some tutorials for the things you implemented like the server-client architecture and gui using opengl and more?
@haubna5 жыл бұрын
Coding in school and graphics stuff just online. I would love to make some tutorials but they would slow down the game dev progress.

I don't know if you made this a feature or not because I am behind on this devlog series, but I think it would be cool if there was an option to turn off the grid thing (with the lines) for more free building. But an option to turn it on for cleaner building.
@haubna4 жыл бұрын
The lines thing was only for testing/debugging. It's already gone :D

Incredible, nice sky and you mentioned in another video the link for realistic sky shading and then you said that you simplified it to be more customizable. Can you elaborate on that? I understand that it does not need to be physically accurate but I would love to learn how to code a nice looking sky.

@@haubna How do you handle the networking? Do you use ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream or just send arrays of bytes as packets? Is there any kind of method you can recommend to me since im trying to do something similar?

I am using netty and a packet based system. Minecraft has a decent networking code so you could take a look at that!

I have some pregenerated noise textures. But other than that everything is done in the fragment shader.
