I think the healing worked well for the Traptanium Kaos boss battle. He was actively evolving into stronger forms as the fight went on and just getting stronger, so the healing that made our efforts feel wasted added to that OH SH¥T effect it needed, yknow?

If you ask me, if your boss heals itself and CANNOT be interrupted, you might as well be giving them multiple health bars.

This was my exact experience, i was once laughing at kaos and his mommy issues, but now? I felt legitimately AFRAID. Even though i had a bucketfull of level 15 giants, i decided against it and assembled a basic yet deep rooted duo. Snap shot and sheep creep. My strategy was to shoot once, switch to sheep creep, switch again and repeat. My silly ass thought i had invincibility frames while switching or something, i only had one boss that was worse than that, the only boss i had to scrounge around in my sister's drawers to find skylanders and eventually won using a level 1 camo. And that boss was robot kaos from skylanders giants.

I remember playing Drill X’s Big Rig over and over again as a kid just so I could play the boss fight again. It didn’t come as a surprise to me that Drill X was a giant robot considering that there are NPCs all over that tell you Drill X is a giant drilling, singing robot, but I do vaguely remember being surprised with the bars it was packing. Drill X was a very memorable and enjoyable boss fight to me, even all these years later, which I think is truly spectacular coming from a Skylanders game.

I was an adult when Skylanders came out, but I still loved the games. Tbh, I never grew up. I refuse. :P But yeah, I remember thinking that there would be some sort of singing robot at the end as well - maybe not rapping, but something. I was dreading it being like Mesmeralda, LOL, or something just sad and slow. Drill-X remains one of my major boss fights to this day. I definitely loved returning to his level just for him. I definitely made that mistake of thinking "okay I've fought him thousands of time, I can take him on Nightmare Mode", because he almost killed me, and I had a whole army of Skylanders compatible with the first 2 games (I actually had all of the first ones except the Dark versions - thanks to my mom)! xD Pretty sure Kaos left me at my last 1 or 2 and he was getting low on health.

To answer your question of "why do they have bosses regenerate health instead of just increasing his health" its to A. Give a visual for when a phase ends and B. Convey that they are more powerful than the player character. Its functionally no different than just give them a 3 tier health bar or notches in a massive health bar to mark phases

I never found it annoying. Plus if you have Drobot with the upgrade path that gives him four lasers you can combat this healing pretty well.

You forgot to mention that for the chompy mage battle if you switch realm to change the chompies into red ones when he swallows them they explode inside him and deal extra damage.

Okay, I adore the Darkness boss fight. No matter what. Here’s why. My mom, who used to always watch me play, predicted that the Darkness would be the final boss. I said that it wouldn’t be, since it’s always Kaos. I got to the end of the game, and beat Kaos. My mom was downstairs at the time, and I was playing upstairs. I ran downstairs, and told my mom about the fight, outright saying “it was a bit easy for a final boss.” I run back upstairs to tour off the system, and I see the cutscene of the Darkness coming out of the portal. My mind was *blown.* Sure, it may just be nostalgia, but I don’t care. The Darkness will always be my favorite boss fight, solely for that moment.

I was definitely on and off thinking that the Darkness would be final, especially since Kaos was also there. After fighting Kaos and the "credits" began to play, I kept going "there's no way, right?" to "well, Kaos DID just stop him as well", to "HA! OF COURSE IT'S THAT NOW!" when the scene changed and the Darkness revealed itself again. Especially after seeing some of these same tactics being used in other media, I just had that gut feeling that all heck was gonna break loose, even when things looked right again. xD I did enjoy blasting that arrogant jerk to smithereens, but man, the last part was a pain since you had to avoid a million obsticles, as well as aim for those rings.

I view the trap team bosses as bounties. Because they always end with a piece of paper with a picture of the boss on it. Thats in my opinion why most of the bosses are optional.

You know, I think that every boss is so unique in every Skylanders game. I don't mind nor care how long or short each one is, I just like battling them all, because once a Skylander fan, FOREVER a Skylander fan. Although it is sad for them to end with Imaginators, they still hold a special place in my childhood life. Yet, I still do wish that Skylanders did comeback, so I would love to share to you my idea of a Skylanders spin-off! I like to call it "Skylanders Yin-Yang". You see... It is a spin-off game that solely focuses on the elements of Dark and Light. Why? Well, let's be real, ever since the dark and light elements were introduced in Trap Team, then to Superchargers and Imaginators, they overall had the LEAST amount of Skylanders! In other words, the Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Undead, Life, Tech, and Magic elements have like 20+ Skylanders (or 30+ if you count the variants and reposes), while dark and light had like 6-7 each. Any who, the storyline is gonna be centered around an evil Troll scientist: Professor Dizastor, who was one of the many known criminals throughout Skylands! He however has a strong hatred for flowers, because he gets sniffles everytime he smells them! Some say he has allergies, but he denies it! Later on, when he was finally caught he was put on house arrest (since Cloud Craker Prison was destroyed around the time). However, throughout his life under house arrest, he was able to create his latest monstrosity: The Root Reaper! It's sole purpose was to swallow and absorb all life essences of ALL flowers grown throughout Skylands! So you as the Portal Master must stop the Root Reaper before all Skylands' flowers die out! around and before Skylands loses its beauty! As for the Skylanders themselves, there'll be a total of 32 (16 each) which consists of: Eight Core Skylanders One Giant Two Swap Force (the Swapabilities will be "stomp" and "Gravitate") One Trap Master One Supercharger (light: sky and dark: sea) Two minis One Sensei (Light Bazooker and Dark Quickshot) The bosses so far are Professor Dizastor and The Root Reaper, including an Evilized Rain Fish, the Stone Golem again, and more. And I plan on bringing back PVP Battle Mode, Sky Goals, Sky Gems, Heroic Challenges, Survival Arena's, basically everything From the past six installments!

This is an interesting idea, the name of the game doesn't really make sense in terms of the story. It's suppose to be a dark/light game, yet the villain or even the game, doesn't have a mention of that. The villains ultimate goal is unique, i don't find it threatening at all, but it's different from controlling and ruling skylands, this sounds so far like a adventure pack level.

@@crislunaverellen6563 well, obviously it should be centered around them, with new dark/light type skylander that's gone rogue because they weren't getting enough appreciantion and were mostly risking everything in their life for the sake of sky lands protection. He's "ultimate" plan is to protect skylands, but not in the way we think, they want to make themselves obsolete, they want to use order (or chaos) to rule skylands, making everyone live in their knees but having protection from any threat at all, while this sounds good on paper, they'd be a sort of aggressive ruler, but still smart. Changing up the rules as they go, more and more of their actions become..."corrupted" they want to destroy skylanders because they see them as a threat to every living being, they'd probably make the whole of skylands turn against the skylanders. It would be hard, but anythings possible. Now flynn, cali, hugo and a bunch of new characters would obviously stick on the skylanders side, because they saw the good in them and recall everything that they've done in the past few games, some of the new characters wouldn't believe them right away, since they wanna see you earn that trust and because some of them have never actually seen you do anything (because at that time, they weren't in the academy or weren't in any of the locations that we've seen throughout the games) they've only heard tales. This is about...lets just say 3 chapters before all of skylands start to question if what they are doing is right. The rogue skylander tries to convince them, when that doesn't work, he tries to manipulate them....whether by evilizing them or something, that's left to my future selfs imagination. Now how bout Eon? He actually got trapped in a trap...that's the best i can come up with, if he was defeated that would be too generic. Before the rogue skylander controlled anything, chapter 4 kicks in and we are at the.....Remembrance Railways...or something, we get to see how they got into power, by total accident, they were suppose to find the weakness to that rogue skylander on know-it-all island, but couldn't go there because the rogues men were there at that time trying to corrupt the stone heads incase the heroes try to question them and the stone heads could give the skylanders false information. Anyways, we see them fight in a temple somewhere far away from anyone, whether they had business there was unknown, but the fought, Eon was going to win, but that rogue skylander blinded/stunned (or just...burned) Eon and used a trap, a portal appears from the sky and Eon gets sucked into it. Progressing through the level we see how the trap was in itself created, supposedly there were still shards of traptanium out there that only fused together after the pieces were collected by a different being all together, formless, without body or mind, it'e essence infused in it, making it..special. The flashback ends there and after progressing more, we get to see the rogue possesing the trap. The info wasn't rather helpful, but they atleast know what happened to master Eon. Chapter 5 is a mission on getting as many skylanders as they can. (this is reffering to how they did it with imaginators, having other skylanders appearing as important characters in the plot rather then playable) we get to find most of the skylanders and they give us info on where to find the other that have actually been put in cloudcracker prison..it's reformed! Except now due to the light and darkness escaping, the soldiers in the prison have been split into 2 groups, light and dark, also i guess it's kinda detached too, one side light, the other dark. And this is taking too long, alot of dark and light skylanders, returning characters that have light or dark armor to "fit" in and diguise themselves, the rogue skylander wanting to get the fist of argus to get the arkeyan robot army to protect them from everybody gangbanging them in the final chaoter of the game and that it was secretly a twist and the rogue skylander was the darkness that was reborn into another life. That's the short of it as i just created this right now.

all I needed to hear is pvp, I'll buy it lol I almost have somewhat of an idea for the final boss that can bring back the realm-shifting idea (you can make a dark/light realm for each element) and you can almost do a little troll with the boss's attacks and you can make the boss itself shift realities during the attacks to do a little trolling, I think it's random for me to mention this idea but just wanted to give idea or smth :D

The fact that Traptanium Kaos recovers health makes it better, tho. Like, that's what an intimidating final boss is supposed to do you the player: make them feel powerless and weak. Making the player feel as though their abilities are just going to make him heal again works, and if anything makes it even better

My Opinion: Spyro's Adventure: Most of them Okay, Kaos is very cool and challenging. Giants: Alright, but not enough of them Swap Force: really good bosses, each one stands out and is quite fun. Trap Team: The most challenging bosses in the series, with a nice smattering of minibosses for flavor. Very memorable and fun. Superchargers: Some of the best, most replayable bosses in the series. I don't know what you were thinking here. Imaginators: Generally too easy. I wish I could have pit my custom skylanders against worthy adversaries, but these bosses are all pretty easy. Still fun, though.

I feel like the intractability with npcs in the hub world of each game could be ranked. I think one of the worse things about Imaginators is that it is almost impossible to interact with any npc in the hub world. Flynn just placed me outside of the academy when I go near him.

My one main issue with the Doomlanders is that for whatever reason, Toys for Bob decided to not make a Sentinel Doomlander. They even give you Special sawblade themed gear after you beat Kaos that includes a Sentinel weapon. Which really makes me think that they had one planned and just scrapped it for whatever reason.

I remember playing the first skylanders when I was like 7 with an Irish kid that was on my soccer team (US) and we would go over to each other’s houses and try over and over to beat that final chaos fight. I don’t think we we’re ever able to and he eventually moved back to ireland. Now that I think about it a lot of people from my childhood I bonded with through skylanders, shame I lost touch with most of them.

Ngl big disagree on the healing stance. First time I fought him, when he healed, I wasn't annoyed. The healing is a sign of fear. This happens in other series too, like too of my mind is Kirby's RtDL's final boss where after getting their health to 1%, you suddenly see them heal all of their health back to full and they get peeved. It delivers fear to the player the first time they fight them. Of course if you break down the Traptanium Kaos fight, obviously the health is scripted to "heal" once it passes a certain threshold, when in actuality, you've just initiated his next phase.

I find Kaos' evil minion skylanders, Doomlanders and the mini bosses in Trap Team underwhelming. The mini bosses in Trap Team are just like their enemy counterparts but with more health. In fact, the only boss battle in Imaginators that I find compelling is The Rubble Maker just because of that epic Blobbers moment. Interesting how you don't like bosses that restore their health because in the Wii version of SSA, Kaos fully restores his health by destroying his last evil minions. A funny thing about Bomb Shell's boss battle is how you can trick him to throw his own bombs at himself. Tae Kwon Crow's boss battle is also broken because you can trick him to teleport outside the area in order to defeat him. But the worst thing about Tae Kwon Crow's boss battle is the glitch that causes him to get stuck in the air or completely disappear, softlocking or even crashing the game. The Wii version of Trap Team tends to crash before Hood Sickle appears or during Dreamcatcher's boss battle. Yeah, Giants definitely has much better boss battles than SSA. I can perfectly understand why you didn't include Brock in this video because his battle is just like fighting an ordinary Drow Goliath. The same goes to that brute guy, though he is rather forgettable. It's nice to find out you consider most of the boss battles in Swap Force really good but I do have to admit Cluck's boss battle is underwhelming because it's just a reskin of Evilized Whisker's boss battle. Funny enough, Cluck doesn't have a boss battle in the 3DS version of Swap Force. I should have guessed the boss battles from the 3DS games aren't included. The 3DS version of SSA has only two boss battles; Hektore and Vathek. Yes, Vathek has his own boss battle in the 3DS version of SSA. It's such a shame how Vathek didn't get a boss battle in the console version but Empire of Ice has that fricking wall boss battle. Count Moneybone's boss battle in Superchargers is truly disappointing compared to his boss battles in the 3DS versions of Swap Force.

Games bosses from worst to best 6th: Superchargers, 90% of them are in a vehicle, heck even the ones where your not in a vehicle are kinda bland and kinda suck. 5. Imaginators, 90% are just doomlanders that get very repetitive, quick shot is challenging and kinda fun but that’s about it. 4. Spyros adventure: this is my favourite game in the series so I’m a little biased, but I really like the Kaos minions boss fights (apart from Undead that sucked, top 3 worse Skylanders bosses for me, especially chop chop and ghost roaster just charging at me and I need 0.1 seconds reaction time) Kaos fight is awesome at the end too in my opinion. 3. Swap force: Bosses are pretty awesome in this game, fire viper, Mismerelda, super evil Kaos there awesome but then you got Casandra, Bubba greebs, kaos in a ship, Barron bron shell shock, evil whiskers. Kinda balances out Swap-Force. 2. Trap Team: (I’m only counting doom raiders other then Gulper) for the most part there awesome, chompy mage, Chef pepper Jack, Dr Krancase, Golden Queen and Kaos (best Kaos fight in the series) but then we got Dreamcatcher who’s way too easy and boring and Wolfgang who for some reason I have mixed feelings for, it feels way too harsh and punishing but at the same time I kinda like it. 1. Giants: Drill X is my favourite Skylanders boss in the series, Chompy mage at the end of Willikin village is an even better boss fight then the one in trap team (might be a hot take) and then Robo Kaos is just awesome, it feel’s amazing our robot friend coming back 1 last time to take on Kaos. 💛

Look I get the reason for not liking the vehicle fight, however…. If you remember from the spellpunk library level the rift engine vehicles and the dark rift engine together were what defeated the darkness the first time. So we need to use rift powered vehicles weapons in order to defeat him. 😌

here’s a weird story: one day I was replaying Trap Team. I restarted my save file and began a new one in its place, and when I got to the Masker Mind fight, he started to control an enemy and then after I killed said enemy, I didn’t have to capture him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Drill-X, Shellshock, and Spellslamzer are my fave bosses. I only remember really playing SF again for Shellshock, LOL. Blaster-Tron from Trap Team is my fave as well. He and Smoke Scream have my fave themes when you summon them. I think I pretty much enjoyed most Kaos fights, but Super Evil Kaos was...Honestly TOO icky for me, with how you're attacking his body parts compared to something else. I'm just not into the thought of chopping off his toenails, lol... But Robo Kaos and Traptanium Kaos have awesome themes and are just so much fun to think of considering concept. Like...TTK has these wicked swords! He becomes some fallen angel thing and it's super awesome to see.

In my school vr game, Kaos Mom was comfirm to be a boss, and while yes, she was the same kinda besides that's but her second phase as the demon Goalius is unique first off she has a health bar and second her final move that's she does is a instakill where she take control of the Evilizor mk 2 and fire it and there's 2 ways to survive 1 numro uno is by using Unite Sword deflect the blast and smash the power source and the second is by causing a beam lock which end the fight instantly with both incompacitated

24:12 Oh no, Dreamcatcher. I hate this boss, but not for the reasons you’d think. You see, on the Wii version, there’s a glitch in chapter 9 that makes it crash if you take too long. So, no kidding, THIS was the hardest boss for me, and not in a fun way. Edit: I said 11 instead of 9.

Kaos cheated with Evil Chop Chop, he got all the upgrades on both of Chop Chop’s paths. Brimstone and Boulders is the band name, their actually names are Fired-Up Frontman, and Percussion Pounder. I really enjoy the Ridepocolypse Demo Derby. I always thought the Bazooker/Swashbuckler Doomlanders were female, also I feel the Bazooker’s outfit may be kinda skimpy in some areas, but I ain’t complaining. Also there was never a battle with a Sentinel Doomlander, a group of him was just made during the final battle with Super Saiyan Blue Kaos.

The first Kaos fight is probably one of my favourite Kaos fights in the series. It’s recycling the previous fights, but I love the fact that it’s a literal onslaught of the evil SkyLanders, and it makes sense since Kaos is And did I mention the MUSIC? That music is easily the best Kaos music of the series. Call it nostalgic bias, but I enjoyed it even on a more recent replay.
