@@SkylarkAV We set up a sound system from electrovoice here in brazil, the x1 line. I just remebered all your vids and came back to be inspired haha. Greetings from Brazil, maybe someday L'Acoustics will be more cheap here.

I’m new to the whole audio engineering, but my question is what is the difference and benefits of hanging the subs rather than putting them on the floor?
@JonathanMartinez-qn2kt6 ай бұрын
Easiest way answers this question it’s better coverage sub sonic frequencies because sometimes you could be in weird church that don’t really fit subs on the ground. The way they traditionally should be suited and you can feel it better in your chest Perfect world having subs both on the ground and in the air is chief kiss! 👌🏾
@mitas34846 ай бұрын
You even out the coverage and lower hotspots in the front. Usually front row is 6-12 dB above the rest for it to travel to the back, hanging it lessens this effect

The Church has (8) KS28’s on the floor also. The K1-SB’s flown with the K2 are a compliment to the K2 and don’t act like floor subs.

What program do you guys use for the frequency monitoring?

What type of speaker wire do you use for these large PA deployments? Looks like individual conductors.
@SkylarkAV5 ай бұрын
Yep. For this particular one, and for everything to fit in the conduit that was already there, we used THHN. We pulled that to a junction box that converted the THHN to speaker cable to each box.

Is the church pre-designed with hang points for all the arrays? Is that factored in initially or was there additional structural design/support needed?
@SkylarkAV5 ай бұрын
The existing steel in the ceiling was able to support the new Arrays, we where able to put the PA exactly where they need to be.

And that's what $650,000 usd looks like.....at a Church!!! wow, I'm in the wrong business.

Curious. If install, why not their new L2 system?
@Spladoinkal6 ай бұрын
I could be completely wrong on this but from my understanding, the L2 is designed with easier set up in mind. Since this is a permanent install, ease of setup is just not necessary. K2 is prolly cheaper because of this while having the same level of sonic quality.
@SkylarkAV6 ай бұрын
L2 was not out when the Church picked their PA. Furthermore K2 fit the room better and met the church’s spec.

Religion is so weird in the US. Imagine dropping half a million dollars for a PA system for a church lol...

In Europe most churches run on Organs. Idk but they aren't that cheap.

You see all these mega PA systems for touring groups etc. Why not for the church as well?
