Skyline Chili | Trying This Cincinnati Chili for the First Time

Hubby and I live near Dayton OH, so Skyline Chili and Goldstar Chili are regular parts of our diet. We can even buy cans of the chili to make the spaghetti at home but there’s nothing like going in and having them serve it right up for us. We love it! Be safe on your travels! 💕🛣️🚘

Nice video, y'all! My first time trying Skyline my mouth didn't know what to tell my brain!!! But I quickly learned to love its unique flavor and now I buy it when I can at the local Publix here in Georgia.

That is awesome! We don't have a Publix near us but we see them in our travels. Do you buy the canned chili or the frozen dinners? I looked it up on Publix site and saw that is what they offer. @@johnphillips1165 I just looked up White's Truck Stop. We are not familiar with it. We were not far from it yesterday. We got off at the Staunton exit to go 64 East to Afton Mountain. We will definitely have to check it out. I looked it up online and it looks like it has a little bit of everything. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@vafunseekers I think it's a pilot travel center now, but the original owner, Dave White, started it back in the 60' s I think... I once asked him what inspired him to open it and his reply was short and to-the-point.... ...."I smelled money". He was kind of famous for actually having lived in his home which was at the truck stop. But VERY few ever got to see inside it. Shortly before he passed on and long after I had moved on from Raphine, I learned he'd bought a Ferrari.... Much to the chagrin of his employees that mostly earned minimum wage... It was kind of a thing then.

You need to take a vacation to Cincinnati. Chili parlors all over the city, Kings Island, Cincinnati Zoo, Cincinnati Art Museum Graeter;s ice cream, Cincinnati Reds, Union Terminal....you'll have a blast!

We have been to Cincinnati once. We thought it was a beautiful city. We were close to Cincinnati when we were in Kentucky but didn't make it there. After 20+ years of driving past a Skyline Chili in Columbus, Ohio, I decided this year to stop and give it a try. I got a couple of "Chilitos". And, I was not impressed. To each their own, I always say! Good video. God Bless!

I don't think I'd like a chilito. I think you need something else with the chili. I will say the fries were really good with the chili and cheese. I thought they were as good if not better than the hotdog. If you decide to try it again, you may want to try the fries. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Those hot dogs. with those toppings looked delicious. Prices were very reasonable considering the amount of cheese you got. I liked Carly s spaghetti with the chilli on top, i think that's what i might order. Do they sell the skyline chilli in cans. Nice place to get a quick meal, and not break the bank😊God bless🇺🇸🙏

You are right about the price being reasonable when you consider the amount of cheese on the dishes. They do not skimp on the cheese in any way. Everything overflowed with cheese! Skyline chili is sold in cans. I have people telling me you can get it at Harris Teeter and Kroger. I'm going to check my local Kroger next time I go. This location was near our hotel, so it was perfect for a quick bite! Just glad to finally get to try Skyline Chili. Thanks for watching! Have a blessed week.

We tried Skyline, and it's just not how we like our Chili in the South. The sweet/cinnamon taste overpowered the meal. We tried the spaghetti, hotdogs , and fries. Thanks for the review.❤❤❤

I never knew this place existed til we went to Florence Ky a couple years ago and I can see where their franchise is more up north being its based out of Cincinnati and the fact that i never saw this until I went to KY but funny thing is that I see they have products in the frozen food section at Kroger and I now see it's pretty famous!

I buy my sky line chili at my local save a lot in their freezer section and 1 tray gives me 3 meals I also really like it The first bite I took my taste buds got all confused That's why the first 2 trays gave me 3meals each But each gives me one meal The other Cincinnati chili is gold brand chili And I've it out of a can to me it taste jus a little different than sky line chili

People in Cincinnati will say Skyline or Gold Star is the best. If you're in the Erlanger/Elsmere area of Northern KY most people will say Dixie Chili is the best.

i have had skyline and another cincinatti chili and the taste of cinnamon and clove in my chili was a turn off. i just did not enjoy or understand it. i'll stick to my southern chili dogs with slaw .

I finally decided to watch this. Apprehensive because I literally hate t😮chili. Just tastes Greek to me. I'm a Texan and won't ever put cinnamon in a batch of chili. Yucky 🤢

Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices so I liked it in the chili but it is definitely a different taste than the traditional chili that I am used to.
