It never gets old seeing these, but this thing is MASSIVE. My EDF conversion on the smaller version was ridiculous and undergoing a few changes right now. But, this is insane. Really looking forward to seeing this big girl put together and hopefully flown this year. Going to be a fun one Jon!

I'm of two minds about this. I'm an old school guy who remembers the Yellow Aircraft F14 kit (that no one could really afford) that ran on twin ducted fans. Twin Rossi .91s.. Point being that you got a kit then you had to do it all. Build it, paint it ,then detail it. Take it out with our somewhat primitive by comparison (PCM by late 80s or FM in the early 80s) and give it a go and hope like hell you 'd take it home in the same number of pieces it left the house in. Flash forward 40 years and you can get a gorgeous F14 with all the guess work taken out. Back in the day guys would literally take years to achieve the amount of detail that you can get right out of the box.

I couldnt really afford even a cheap 40 trainer when young and when I could I'd fly twice a year when my dad could take me to the place... due to: he couldnt deal with the snobs at the field... when I got older I hated going to the field cause the guys where still snobs... the kids grew and followed daddy's life style lol well.. now I moved to the u.s ... I by house of balsa... sig kits... guillows... lots of glow. Buy most japanese and russian engines... buuuuut I absolutely LOVE these insanely detailed nearly Plug and Play kits. hours of work and then u r flying. They are SO CHEAP compared to the old days prices specially for a Brazilian born who saved 5 years for an old fm radio back in the day... here every month I buy a kit and acouple of arf/pnp kits hahaha God is good. living in the u.s now

@@feltav5719 Living in Texas all of my life ( We Texans being a different breed of cat) I never really saw any snobbery at the fields I used to fly at. Sure there were guys that were turds but they were in the the minority. As a young man I got to meet a great number of guys that graced the pages of RCM Magazine at various fly-ins around Central Texas: Chuck Cunningham, Nick Ziroli Sr., Bob Fiorenze to name a few... All of them really down to Earth guys who would help you with advice or show you how they did something if you were having an issue. The Texas spirit was and still is alive and well at most of the fields today. We just dont have time for the bullshit. Like my Daddy used to say: "If you're gonna be a turd go lay in the grass!"

Thanks Guys. Yea the tech and advancements with stuff like this is nuts! The Traditional methods are obviously much less common today but there is also something rewarding with a build like the T-33 that i'm also working on now. The amount of time that goes into something like that is Tremendous! And 20 years ago that BVM T-33 was considered an ARF!

My father served in the Navy. He had a friend who was an RIO in the VF-84 Jolly Rogers F-14 squadron based out of Oceana Naval airstation. He took me and my brother to work on a Saturday. We both got to sit in the cockpit. 12:25

Man that thing is awesome. Only discrepancy I have is the control stick in the rear. The RIO did not have a flight stick since the pilot was the only one that could actually fly the plane. Other than that, this thing is BADASS!!!!!

WOW!! Amazing aircraft, and that it’s all in those boxes pretty much easy assembly still despite its size and complexity! I am guessing you can get various paint schemes as I saw one with the Jolly Roger but his had two aircrew in cockpit! Gorgeous flying plane! What about the engines? I guess you get those separate?! Crazy!

we will be making it operational. As far as function goes. Possible but would be a bit tough. you run the risk of catching your nose wheel/leg on the arrestor.

Thanks! Basically it will take up the entire floor of a trailer. Typically with something like this it will get transported on it's landing gear.

As amazing as this model is, I feel like the only way to do it justice is to have some sort of VR camera with a high powered radio link for distance because otherwise you can only really fly circles due to its speed or it will get out of view.
