Ah man, the graphics might be dated but the gameplay still rocks! This had so much detail and so many features that modern day sci-fi shooters don't have. The game had such a bleak and run-down atmosphere in it, which perfectly portrays the future world seen in the first two films.

Actually, you're right. The heavy machine gun is in the dream sequence during the Resistance shelter fight. The infiltrator does, technically use a heavy machine gun, a German model to my knowledge, but it's intended to be the Laser Cannon, as used in Skynet. Coincidentally, the T-800 uses the Heavy Machine gun in Terminator 3, but obviously Skynet came out before that. I just thought they sound alike. Yeah, an HD version would be nice, maybe with some online multiplayer as well.

This is the best Terminator-game I've ever played - even though it's 16 years old. I like how the weapons and most of the robots are all taken from the movies (even though some of them are only mentioned but not seen). I liked the full motion video-introductions to each level. It was so cool to the get instructions from John Conner himself, and see Kyle Reese as a kid sitting next to him. I remember the sound of the terminators were so scary for me at the time (I was also just a kid).

21 Square Enix employees disliked the video. "Too much gameplay footage and not enough cutscenes for a trailer." they said.

I actually felt the same way about this game. I must have had so many nightmares as a result of playing this. The sounds and just general atmosphere was so intense at the time. It is nice to see how far Bethseda has come and that even now, as seen in Fallout, they still implement the post-apocalyptic feeling like they did in Skynet and Future Shock. I will say that for the weapons, a lot of them are from the movies but also from Aliens, such as the scanner and heavy-machine gun.

I've played ALL the fps since a friend gave me Wolf 3d on a single floppy WAY back in the day. My whole group of friends thought Skynet was WAY ahead in a lot of ways. It had its glitches but there were things you could do in the multiplayer that other games weren't even close to. It's the first game I ever remember having vehicles that could be piloted. We had an absolute blast with this game at our LAN parties. We all feel Skynet was very underrated at the time. Awesome, awesome game!
@Strejferen12 жыл бұрын
I think the heavy machinegun is in the first movie as well: in the dream Kyle has after having escaped the police station. In that dream of the future a terminator shows up disguised as a man killing everyone in a rebel base with the machine gun. Most noticable he shoots a couble of dogs as well. But wow, it would be cool if Bethesda made a game like this with todays graphics. Have never played a terminator game since, that had such a great atmosphere.

The terminator music just kicks that game trailer up 10 notches in my book. The music from terminator rocks, but to put it to the terminator game, awesome.

10 years ago this was state of the art. Bethesda was a company that introduced Daggerfall to the masses. The scope of these two games were way beyond other games of the time. I played this game through so many times. You don't think the game is old or lacking as you play it. Performance is better than most games today. Fast load times, freakish action, intensly scary. A true current comparison would be OBLIVION, which may seem amazing now, but 10 years from now, kids will think it's primitive.

It is perhaps one of the only highly enjoyable terminator games around. I remember this game back when I was in 4th grade in 1996 and not only was I intrigued, but scared from all the high pitched sounds and enemies like the raptor. There were so many places to go in each level, check out old terminator movie spots and go into random buildings, so barren yet so enjoyable.

I'm still trying to get some DOS player to play this game, I have both games, that being Skynet and Future Shock. Both great games although Future Shock has like.. gazillion more levels and is way more epic. The game still haunts me to the core since I first played it when I was 10, ever now and then I have some crazy dream like the ones Sarah Conner has. Anyways, a great game. Someday I'll record, write a review, and even write a walkthrough to the game so it shall hopefull be remembered.

The precurser to this was The Terminator: Future Shock. You need Skynet, as it has improvements for Future Shock. Bethesda has a thing for games on a massive scale. No shitty actors in FS. :) These gams will scare the FUCK out of you. If you can get past the limited graphics, this game will really blow you away. I loved playing it.
