We must declare independence from the US on Tuesday. We are just barely out of one colonial relationship and should not be forced back into a second one. We remain a member of the Commonwealth but no one here can see or feel any advantage to that relationship. Time to become a republic and look to the world for trade, not just to putting raw materials in a pipeline or the back of a truck and enriching the Americans.

needs to be a commonwealth free trade agreement

Well perhaps these tariffs will put an end to the ridiculous back and forth across the border of auto parts and materials. There is absolutely no need to have a supply chain where an auto assembly plant relies on a dozen plus cross-border transactions. Bring it home American automakers! 😂
@murphaph2 сағат бұрын
They only move parts around because it's cheaper. The same thing happens in the EU. A part can cross several borders as components get built up in sub-assemblies and assemblies and ulimately cars.

It may come as no surprise that Canada currently lacks a cohesive and functional federal administration. In this vacuum of leadership, individual provinces have been compelled to engage directly with the United States, seeking their own economic accommodations. Notably, the Premier of Alberta has secured a partial exemption from the recent tariff measures a testament to the shifting nature of North American trade diplomacy. President Trump’s geopolitical priorities appear increasingly centered on consolidating American influence over the Western Hemisphere and the Pacific domain. Consequently, Europe may find itself relegated to a secondary position in Washington’s strategic calculus. If European powers wish to maintain geopolitical relevance, they must act with urgency to assert their autonomy and reinforce their strategic capacities.

BS, Canada has had strong central leadership through this, except for Alberta! Danielle is the only outlier because all she is really interested in is selling Alberta oil! Do not defend her to the rest of Canadians, please.
