They make purchases through international corporations. However, a sovereign nation can also take the property back & kick the corporation out of the country. We studied this in grad school - talked about the risk of setting up shop in a foreign nation. Political instability must be considered. The US is pro business, but it could happen under certain circumstances.

Douglas is far too honest and honourable a man to enter the dirty world of politics. Being on the outside he can expose the hypocrisy of politicians. Yes it would be nice if such a decent man was our PM. But a pipe dream I imagine. His own campaign sites and multiple events he has done promoted him as a combat veteran and a combination of the "mispeaks" yet not once did he rectify the details at these events. Claimed in a campaign add he only does white guy tacos as pepper is the strongest spice - yet has online stories of him winning awards for spicy "chillis" made in state fairs. Just off the top of my head to add to yours seems the poor guy definitely misspeaks a lot ;)
