True story: an overseas friend of mine missed out on an important meeting because of roadblocks, and then recognized a neighbor several streets away. He talked to other people, one thing led to another and in the end they had an industrial container placed right in front of the protesters house, effectively blocking his frontdoor. You could still get in if you squeezed through, but that was about it. Lo and behold: all of a sudden it was all "different". Blocking other people and preventing them to get home or go to work is one thing, but blocking _him_ from entering his home was an outrage! Hypocrisy ruled supreme. The police were called, the neighbors said that "mistakes" were made but as soon as the police realized that this was one of those road blockers they stopped caring: "as long as this conflict gets resolved by tomorrow, DON'T make us come back, ok?". The neighbor became the laughing stock of the neighborhoor: "Mr. hypocrite".

In the 1970's and following decades, we've been told the planet's going to freeze over, the planet's going to burn up, a meteor is going to hit & wipe out the atmosphere killing all life, there are too many people on earth, there are too few babies being born... It's quite exhausting trying to keep up with the most popular doomsday prediction. I live in the back of beyond and use about 15 gallons of gas a month to drive my Huge 1980 F250 Extended Cab Ford Ranger with a C6 transmission to climb about 2500' to my mountain perch. Everything else I do is solar or muscle powered. Why don't we just ban gas in towns over a 250,000 population cap and leave the rest of us refuseniks alone.
