It's high time government buildings, and MPs' homes got switched off first and on last. Until these people start feeling the consequences of their bumbling and bungling, they won't get it.

Not just the MPs homes but their whole electorate. All the Labor voters need to feel the pain of their vote.
@Gough-jf9zf
@Gough-jf9zf 16 күн бұрын
So you want to pay for an individual switch for each MP's home power supply? What about their offices? Some rural MPs have three electorate offices and one near parliament. If an office is in, say a shopping centre, do you turn all the power off? Hospitals are government buildings. I kinda like the idea of them having 24 hour electricity.

@@suekimpton7874 Batteries _do_ exist for houses, but are currently expensive. they're pretty small. Like solar panels, they'll keep dropping in price and increasing in safety. "...fed back into the system for you to buy back" isn't a very accurate description. _Some_ suppliers are introducing a surcharge, but those selling to the grid will still earn more than the charge.

Renewal energy is driving up inflation also. To produce anything requires energy if energy is expensive it drives the cost of our products sold to the consumer inturn that affects inflation. Albo will continue with the renewable energy scheme because he will never admit it is the most costly mistake any government has made in Australia.

I wouldn't be giving any wage rises to the public sector. In a cost of living crisis, private sector workers aren't getting rises. Most are already on a decent income compared to the private sector. And politicians haven't taken a pay cut. They got a large increase last year. Out of touch or what !

Unfortunately, it's not just Victoria. Thanks to labors' renewables, South Australia has to import much of its power from Victoria and NSW because renewables can't cope with normal demand. If Victoria loses power because it can't keep up with demand there. How do you expect South Australia to cope. We already have the dearest and most unreliable power in Australia now.

We do not need another form of energy production (nuclear). What Australia needs is a Prime Minister with a big set of cojones that will drive down the cost of coal and gas. Extracting coal and gas in Australia and expecting Australians to pay world prices is nothing short of criminal. A Prime minister that will put all coal and gas exporters on notice that anything above cost plus 10% for the domestic market is unacceptable. If there is a non compliance, then the Navy is brought in and nothing leaves Australian shores. These foreign companies have had their day in the sun and the tide needs to turn in favour of the consumer. All the deadwood needs pruning and a return to low energy prices. This is all achievable and requires a Government to stop playing God with Australians and business owners. Bowens Folly.
