I was born in the 'blue' state of NY, and mostly raised in the 'blue' state of CA. I haven't left CA, because my family and life are here, but I left the Left. I got tired of being told by the media (and largely assumed by even my own relatives) that because I was a Democrat, I MUST be pro-choice and support the Biden immigration policies, and surely I would be on board with legalizing same-sex marriage (in 2008) and support BLM, and trans/non-binary propaganda pushed on children, and biological men on women's sports teams. I'm pretty much a centrist, though, leaning liberal on some issues and conservative on others, and I hate this polarization in the U.S.

Imagine the situation you speak a few languages. It changes the news picture completely. As a person who speaks Spanish, English, and Russian, I can see every day how countries extort information to make it more convenient for the government agenda. Imagine you hear what Trump said, and the next day, Russian media changes the accent the way Trump's normal words sound like a threat, and the next day Putin says something, and there are US and British media take out his harmless speech out of context, so Putin sounds like an enemy. And it's on a daily basis. The same about the Spanish language, I watch news about Cuba or Venezuela, for example, and they are never the same with what Cuban or Venezuelan media shows. So, if I want some objective information, I try to check as many sources as possible. By the way, Fox and especially Fox Australia is a good source of information in English, I agree with you.
