He is developing a great resume. I doubt that he could have beaten Via Sistina in the Cox Plate, I don't think any horse in the world could have. Her time converts to 1m 58.7 at 2000m as against his tick over 2 minutes, both run on Strathayr. They are clearly two of the best 10f horses on the planet and have raised the international prestige of the Cox Plate.

Its hard to say as RW is only 5 yrs old but Via is 7 (8 by Cox time I think ?). RW might not be at its peak yet. Hopefully he can get the win in Saudi and Dubai to develope him into the next level

He’s a very good horse in Hong Kong He looked extremely vulnerable against horses in Australia who are 1400-1600m specialist horses and not genuine 2000m horses. I doubt he could transfer this winning form to G1 level in Europe

ps Nobody cares about the Cox Plate internationally People would rather win Breeders Cup or Hong Kong or Dubai races than the Cox Plate internationally People

@@elgransenor1472 Not according to the world's top public handicappers. He has landed G1s in Australia, Honkers and Japan and currently ranked equal 8th turf horse on the planet by IFHA, with Auguste Rodin and Bluestocking (both retired), and equal second middle distance. That puts him in very elite company. Calandagan and Goliath (both retired), Charyn (about to be retired), Economics and Rebel's Romance are above him, but are designated intermediate. Of course, the boundaries between these categories are fuzzy and of limited practical value.

Clearly you're an Aussie who can't see out of his own bubble. No Aussie horse could beat a euro bred in Europe apart from the sprinters. BTW via sistina is bred where?

@singhrajput72764 күн бұрын
@ I think via because she’s gone to another level , we have seen romantic warrior last year won from Mr brightside by nose , was tough , the way via Sistina won last two races makes it first choice

Via Sistina will be a northern hemisphere bred 7yo mare next year (January to December). But as she's now racing in Australia, she'll officially be in the racebook as a southern hemisphere 8yo mare from August 2025. Does anybody know when was the last time an 8yo mare (SH time) or late 7yo NH mare won a G1 race anywhere in the world?

@@elgransenor1472 I was thinking the same thing. She'll officially be an 8yo mare by the time the next Cox Plate comes around.

@@SvendBosanvovski It took mature judgement to get him off the rail nearing the home turn so he could be three off the rails into the straight. Once in the lead he was too strong for his rivals to the post. JM knew he had a real horse under him.

No decent euro in the race. If europe sent its average horses over, he'd have no chance. Lets be honest. To all the Aussies, your best middle distance horse couldn't win an egg and spoon race over here.

If that’s the case why don’t they come and win some real money instead of racing for peanuts.

Bring the Europeans to Hong Kong and run for real money
@goldenboots5073 күн бұрын
@floridapmi what you don't understand is that euro horses run their best horse not for prize money but the stud value. Running them in Australia and Hong Kong believe or not hurts their stud fee because of how weak the racing is. Yes, you have great prize money, but you're never gonna get the best to compete there. You are just a normal.punter that doesn't know how racing works behind the scenes
@floridapmi3 күн бұрын
@ I grew up on a horse farm, worked as a track handicapper and a jockey agent. I have probably forgotten more about how horse racing works than you have ever known.
@goldenboots5073 күн бұрын
@floridapmi seems unlikely, you were talking about prize money like that's what matters. Do you think the likes of coolmore and godolphin run their horse because they like the money??? These men are billionaires, sheikh mohammed effectively owns a country. These men see the bigger picture and look at the stud fees which make them hundreds of millions of dollars a year. The racing in Europe is very very competitive and racing people want euro stock for the turf. Especially around the middle distances.
@floridapmi3 күн бұрын
@ there is no breeding in Hong Kong, there is NO REASON Warrior should ever travel to Europe and run for pennies he’s running for there. If you want him to run against the top European horses the HKJC pays for the travel arrangements. Come on down.
