Hi Tap, it worked! Easy basic instructions clearly and simply explained , just perfect! I had tried a lot of other video tutorials before this one but none worked. This was my first attempt at creating a quest - a note of inheritance for my house mod. Now all I need is to trigger an an arrow on the map with the location of the key, but thanks to your video I'm much closer to being able to do that. You are a genius!📜💌💋

You're quite welcome... not a genius LOL just smarter than the average bear. The thing you are looking to do is to make an Alias in your Quest and point at the key, then make a quest stage to finish the Quest once you have the key in your inventory (use conditions)

Great to hear! yeah figuring it out was a raging biotch but when I did I was like yep need a video (if only for my own purposes) Figured others might want this for their stuff too. I'm not real good at Quests and stuff but I know this can be expanded to go into more detailed stuff too

Everyting up to stage 5 works, but the script fragment on stage 6 does not want to work, it will not open the propieties window so I can't set anyting up after that. EDIT: NVM now it worked after deleting the whole quest and trying again.

Sadly that is what you have to do. Best to save after each step then reload the Kit. CK is touchy like that for whatever reason

Great video man! Is there any way to add a condition so the courier will only deliver the note to you if you have completed a certain quest?

yes you add a condition on the front page of the quest "QuestCompleted" or even "QuestStageCompleted" pick your Quest you want it to be tied too and have it equal 1 You can also do conditions for if the player is at or more than a certain level (think Dawnguard Quest or the Jarl of Falkreath Quest)

@@The_Ninedalorian Thanks for the response, yet it doesn't seem to work for me when I set the condition of MQ104 having to be completed to receive the letter. There also seems to be an issue with stage 10 and it's objective not appearing in my journal or on screen, do you have any idea on how to fix this?

There's some of the Quests that have problems any how. Maybe do it based on Player Level?

I tried using the conditions tab but it did not work for me, so I ended up doing something else that worked, basically I looked up how some of the Aniversary edition quests that start through the courier work and I ended up using a modified version of that script, besides working fine, it also removed the need to add a script to MQ00 so I could run the quest start script inside the modded quest itself.

Hello TAP, I followed the tutorial and the courier appeared as soon as I entered Riverwood and handed me the note, the problem is that he doesn't stop coming later and keeps handing me the same note over and over again. What can be the problem that causes it, or what the solution?

try unchecking start game enabled and adding a condition to have the game check your inventory to see if your note is already in your possession. That condition would be placed on the main page of the Quest. You could also add a location condition so that the courier only comes in a certain spot. Conditions are cool things if you do them correctly but take a bit of tweaking and practice.

@@The_Ninedalorian Hi Tap. Yes, the note is delivered to me and I receive it, I have 50 notes in inventory. Every time between 3 or 10 or 9 notes appear to me, the amount varies. And I repeat, I speak with an NPC and he appears, I enter or leave somewhere, he appears again, I pass from one area, or cell to another and he appears giving me the note in an amount always of 3 or more. I'm going to try unchecking the start of the game etc

Hello TAP, I followed your advice and now the courier works without errors. The truth is that you are a very kind and dedicated guy, and above all dedicated to his followers, reading everyone's comments and answering questions. Hey there! Awesome tutorial, I just had one question. Do you know by chance why when I go to add the Quest property that's named "WICourier" why it gives me the error "cannot name a variable or property the same as a known type or script"? Everything else works up to this point but for some reason it just won't let me name it.

You add the new Property then click edit Value and choose WICourier from the list

ahhh you didn't have your scripts unpacked in Data huh? Yep that would do it. Now if you are using SKSE you should make a mod out of the SKSE scripts and install it with your mod manager. I use MO2 so its easy. I recommend using MO2 if you are gonna be making mods anyhow. But don't run the CK through MO2. Always run the CK straight out of the Skyrim Folder.
