To use the shockwave, I believe you have to stand still and jump. I.e. not jump forward.

I remember the Fort Sungard from life as a werewolf, when he first turned. Shockwave only works if you are standing still and jump. It makes it a bit unpractical sometimes, but it's still really good when it works.

The shockwave only works if you jump while standing still. Not if you jump while moving or moving forward with the jump.
