If anyone watching this wants some tips about getting started in survival mode - Go to the house of the relative of whoever you escape Helgan with - you can rest there for free, take additional food (over what they give you - and it's not flagged as stealing) and can cook at their fire (raw meat can poison you - cooked food gives better hunger points and also soup helps with the cold) - this sets you up nicely with supplies at the start of the game. Craft a camping kit (it's a separate download though) - it's a single use item that let's you create a bed & fire in the wilderness (you need some wood and some leather strips) - craft at the Blacksmiths forge. Stock up on Salt - it's essential for cooking. Eat either a soup or a big steak first thing in the morning (they give over 300 hunger points each) - sets you up for the day. Use the basic restoration spell to heal and save potions for when you get in trouble during combat - health doesn't naturally regenerate in this mode. Join the Companions in Whiterun - they give you a free bed for the night - money saved on inns can buy more food. Consider the warmth rating of armour, but don't worry about the cold too much, standing near a fire can warm you up and most dungeons aren't cold so once you're in you should be ok. There are often bedrolls in dungeons so you can rest & level up partway through the dungeons if you really need to. Backpacks can be bought and crafted at forges to increase your carry capacity (survival mode restricts your carry weight) - but like Campfires this is a separate download. Some races get new bonuses in Survival mode around hunger, cold and fatigue resistances. Try to carry 2-3 Soups with you when you set out on a journey (to a dungeon) and 1-2 cooked meat steaks, this is enough food for 2-3 days some dungeons can you into another day, especially if you rest partway through. Basically do everything Rob didn't do.

@@paledrake you can't do that in survival games, you have to play them like you're living them, order your stuff right after breakfast, explore the town while remembering to stop for meals, sleep for 8 hours then eat breakfast, then pick up your stuff. If something takes a day, it takes a day, during which you have to actually do stuff.

oppositesleeper maybe i didn’t express myself properly... when i wrote this message i was watching him strugling greatly with potions and I thought « why he is not healing himself with the basic healing spell ? » so i wrote it here. Then some minutes later he said he didn’t remembered it was there from the start and used it. But he then strugled to know his status effects, didn’t know the bed at inn was available for 24h, didn’t know where the shrine was... So i am still impressed by the fact that he claims constantly that Skyrim is his confort game, that he played it since launch and even has platinumed it, but he is still forgetting very basic things about this game. It’s not a problem at all and I really like his videos, but I find some of this a bit surprising, that’s it...

For what it's worth, the stream quality is fine. Some people just like to complain about anything less than 1080 because they are spoiled brats. 480 is nowhere near "unwatchable". I can still read all the dialogue, I can still see all the content. I repeat, it's fine. Thanks for taking the time Rob and Dan, we appreciate you.

@@PlayStationAccess I do alchemy and often try to sell too many goods for the traders to afford, hence knowing about the salt and the inn. 🤣 (give them time to replenish their gold) I used to always play only using a bow and never crafted anything. Now I'm a mage obsessed more with picking flowers than finding rare loot in locked chests. Trying my hand at enchantments, too. Skyrim is the gift that keeps on giving.

🤦‍♀️The number of viewers complaining about the resolution during this stream is ridiculous. 1) its rob and he’s playing skyrim, id watch that in any res. 2) everyone is doing what they can to continue with some grade of normalcy through this pandemic. 3) content quality should always rank over visuals/specs, especially when its free.
