I like how Magnus is the opposite to Kleiner personality wise, with him being egotistical, somewhat uncaring of others, and being blunt, while Kleiner is soft spoken, sympathetic, and charitable even with his own work. But when you look deep down the two have so much in common, with both being huge factors with helping out humanity, and both of them being seriously focused on helping others. As for the Casserole comment in Episode 2. I don't think he was being petty, I think that was his attempt at humor and cracking a joke. But that's just me. To me Magnusson would be a pain in the ass, but I would rather work in the White Forest, sure he has an ego, but I think he's someone I could have a lot of fun with humor wise.
@Red_Ryry2 жыл бұрын
White forest is honestly one of the few resistance bases we know the most about and have seen in great detail. Magnusson runs a tight ship and it feels like a proper military resistance base. Black Mesa East is the second most understood base, but we don’t spend much time there so we don’t know too much about it, as for base in c17, I always assumed that kleiners lab was it, that that room was the entire base despite the petrol factory being huge. If more of the factory was actually being used by the resistance, I hope we see it in action in a prequel similar to Alyx. Both kleiners lab and black Mesa East intrigue me and id love to see more about them in various source (2 heh) material. The resistance bases that are in close proximity to the citadel and nova prospect as opposed to the remoteness of white forest intrigue me because of the mystery and lack of knowledge we have about them. We know they are major bases of operation and were used to test xen relay teleportation technology, but other then that and what we saw when visiting, our knowledge is very bare bones and its funny that the most remote base, white forest, is the one that felt the most active and alive, it felt like a proper settlement, probably similar to how black Mesa East and ravenholm acted together before the combined shelled ravenholm with head crabs

Hey if humanity defeats the combine, how will the lack of water affect humanity going forward? I seem to remember in half life 2 they say the sea levels have dropped noticeably and we can see signs that rivers and such used to have more water. I seem to remember it being alluded to that the combine were taking the water to their home world or something. That doesn’t sound good for humanity considering in the present day we are already seeing shortages of water in some areas. Does this mean there is no way to get that water back and humanity’s rebuilding efforts on earth will forever be stunted and it can never return to pre invasion levels? So earth will always be vulnerable to invasion in the future due to this handicap? Just a little concerning to me, always wondered about what happened to the water and I did a little research with not many answers.
@JBBrickman3 жыл бұрын
Then again since we never find out exactly what has happened to the water they could be storing it somewhere, or using it in some big earth mega project. I guess what did the Combine do with the earths water is the question

I like the box. It's good but it's probably very flat. Without the defects of a space, it can sound very artificial.

a lot of scaninavians have probably commented this, but it is pronounced "ar neh" Well at least that's how we say it c:

there's really one only thing I will never understand in half life's lore. I get the cascade resonance, there can be a physics model that could explain that , or the concept of the border world , or the gravity gun , or the fact that a multi dimensional empire haven't managed to find a way to locally teleport... but all those things , I can understand . The thing that I cannot understand , is why the fuck most electronic devices in half life have the capacity to explode as if they were filled with 1kg of TNT. Can you imagine , you're a scientist in the CERN laboratory , taking a break after 4 hours of making protons collide , you go to the vending machine to grab your coke , and this shit explodes on you ? then you go to your computer , hit the compile button or whatever, you get syntaxes errors , and your computer explodes... half life logic

I can say that the base in white Forrest reminds me of those soviet era military bases who had the ability to fire big rockets from underground Also and this taking part a decade after the fall of the soviet union s I expect these were probably there supposed to be probably made by the soviets to have a protective front against NATO being Greece and Turkey

Why use Half Life Source at all when Black Mesa exists now?
@Skyrionn2 жыл бұрын
I prefer the original and I wouldn't be able to capture footage in the way I do now if I used Black Mesa ☺
