Thanks. I haven't made the mistake of buying any equipment. Although it is tempting. Lots on the different marketplaces. Looking forward to seeing you and getting the training next week. 🎉

AltimeterOne! Don't forget to buy the mount, zip-tie it on the throttle, below a small convex mirror . No evil cell phone required. K.I.S.S. for sure! Thanks for the vid, good stuff.

Great video. I’ve only bought a wing and kiting harness so far. You bring up a good point about glasses breaking the seal. What options are there for those of us who need prescription lenses but can’t wear contacts?

Could you get googles with prescription lenses?
@wolfhound6655 ай бұрын
@@SkySchool they are available but mostly by ordering online so you won’t know about the fit until I get them.

Thank you so very much for sharing this knowledge with us! I have not purchased any gear yet, but that day will come (hopefully soon) now I have a better idea what to look out for 👍🪂🙏

Thanks for this.

Great video, completely agree with everything in it. Its such a common thing for new pilots to cover themselves in knick knacks. Carrying too many tools and spare parts is common too. For flying apps we use XCnav over here which is very similar to Gaggle.

6:30 Do you have a link or model of the Flight Deck?
@rule1dontgosplat7 ай бұрын
I use an IPhone case by casekoo which has a ring on the back of it. I tie that ring to my belt with about a foot of paracord and run gaggle on it. BUT - I REALLY use my Garmin Fenix 7 more than anything else. It tells me altitude, airspeed, elapsed time, and a few other things (heart rate!) using the StuFly app. One thing I really like having is my Insta360 x3 camera. It's bolted to the front end of my swing arm out of the way for launches. I can start it before takeoff, and capture the whole flight without messing with it. And I can focus it where I want in editing, without having to play with the camera in flight.

For the old fuel suggestion, is that for fuel with ethanol only or does that include non-ethanol fuel as well?
@shanesplanetshane37958 ай бұрын
I've run non-ethanol mid-grade premixed in my moster, that sat outside in a humid environment for 5 months(sealed plastic gas can). It ran fine. Ymmv of course.

what about dual starter (electric starter)? any opinion?
@parajerry8 ай бұрын
I love my electric starter. SO much easier than pulling, especially starting the engine for the first time of the day. It does ad weight so it is up to you to decide if the weight is worth the convenience. Typically, this is only a concern for takeoff and maybe landing. Running with all that weight is, to me, the hardest part of the sport.

Why not use additive for old fuel? This seems very wasteful:s but cool video, thank you!
