This just shows how much of a hole Eddie Hearn put sky in when he took his matchroom fighters away. No offence to Sam Egginton but it’s borderline embarrassing that sky put this up as a headliner for a Saturday night. Egginton would be barely good enough 2 b Conor Benns sparring partner. Egginton is a high level journeyman who has been throughly exposed anytime he’s stepped up. This fight is a good undercard fight. Probably 2 or 3 fights from the main event.

He isn't a journeyman. Sam Eggington isn't being paid for rounds, he's a solid fighter, definitely European level but falls short of being ranked among the elites. He's Silver/Continental level.

@@terryeagle6321 Yes like Derek Chisora. He's also a high level journeyman. Meaning if you have world level ambitions and your not the real deal Chisora and Eggington will beat you. The type of fighters that's a good gauge to see how good you are.

You don't know what journeyman means, he is at the lower end (maybe the very bottom end) of a world class boxer, or very top end of national/European level. Journeymen are multiple levels below Sam. You obviously just watch the tiny 0.1% of fighters that reach AJ, Fury levels etc and fight mostly PPVs and think that is all of boxing. There is a bottom end to every level, it's not a case that you are either the top elite or just a journeyman. Chisora is a gatekeeper, he is levels above a journeyman and would flatten every journeyman of any age tomorrow.
