One of those moments that is like Nostalgia in the present tense. You just know you're watching something special. Although Root still hopefully has a long time to go yet and is really in many ways just about at his peak, it did feel like today was, in some sense, a handing on of the baton from Root to Brook...the day Brook stepped out of Root's shadow. It's harder to do in drier parts of the world. In countries where water is plentiful from above (rainfall) and below (deep water tables) it's easier to produce a pitch with grass and moisture. Pakistan wants to keep producing high quality fast bowlers and are resisting the temptation to create dusty, crumbly pitches that only spinners can bowl on.
