Heart on his sleeve guy, doesn't hide anything, sometimes he says things about arsenal that I don't agree with, but I completely get where he's coming from because he's passionate, the things that arsenal could be doing I completely get why our fans are the way they are. Class act on & off the field, his partnership with Vieira helped usher in the golden era of Premier League football. He was an excellent, well-rounded player, who always found Arsenal's pacy forwards with that left footed diagonal ball, whilst ebabling Vieira to get forward & link play. His words at the end about football bringing people together were beautiful as well, very poignant too, given all that is happening in the world today.

His comments regarding defenders back then compared to now. Strikers in the late 90s early 2000s had to face adams, keown, rio, vidic, ledley king, desialley, terry, carvallho, carragher, hyppia, jaap stam etc to name bit a few. Now days theres VVD. Thats it in the prem. Yet people say haaland is the best striker in prem history. Give your heads a wobble. VVD wouldve been on the chelsea beanch in 01,02,03 same for united.
@Tom-mk7nd12 күн бұрын
It's also because the game has changed dramatically. Penalties are awarded for the slightest of physical of contact so defenders can't be as physical and confident in one-on-one situations. Also, many modern coaches require defenders to be more balanced and have better skills with the ball.
