Amorims type of striker has to be good at holding the ball, dribbling and beating defenders 1 v1 coz most times hes alone during attack..has to be able to hold the ball and wait fr support and pass well and has to be able to recieve the ball from the wings where theres open space to turn and run towards goal,has to be very good at ball control coz most balls come from far... Amorims team uses acounter attacking kind of approach, astriker is not need to just sit in the box and wait for crosses... Go and watch Gyokeres highlights and see all that ive explained.. And With such a profile, Rashford is a better candidate than Hojlund Hojlund still needs to improve in ball control,operating from the wings and passing accurately when his team mates come to give support,and also crossing incase he gets the ball from the wing while the midfielders have run inside the box.

When Rashford plays in the middle he plays off the defenders shoulder using his pace, this requires a pass which may get cut out. A ball to feet is the best way to keep possession which needs the striker to be comfortable playing with his back to the goal which Rashford isn't good at. Hojlund is. Not hating on Rashford, he is better playing wide using his pace.

Shaw will never be Ruben's LWB... Ruben only played with Matheus Reis at Wing back because Nuno Santos (LWB) got injured and Pote (LW) also got injured so he had to put Maxi Araujo (who is the LWB replacement) forward at LW and his third option, Geny was injured as well. Ruben's real options for the LWB at Sporting were Nuno Santos, Maxi Araujo and Geny (Who's the starter at RWB), so he will most likely play with dalot/malacia/Garnacho and shaw will be an option for the LCB

i think Shaw should be out 100% he can only have chance as a LCB never a LWB. i would like to see harry amass because he as speed skill and an amazing attacking drive don't know why he's not in contention currently nobody talking about him!?! every united fan saw him in preseason and was in awe of him until he picked up at little knock and were very surprised not to see him start or on the bench at the start of the season everyone thought we might of loaned him. So i would like to see him start especially under Amorim's line up/formation! We need a left footer on the left side unfortunately Garnacho cant do whip a cross in with his left, i know Sporting's LWB is right footed but he can actually use his left foot really well for whipping in crosses you wont get that with Garnacho. And Rashford, that's the only position he can play under Amorim and i don't think he can even do that so i think we should try sell him end of season he no longer fits this team.

perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I could see Antony transitioning to a LWB. His work rate for me, is really good. He presses the ball when we don’t have it and also tracks back when we’ve just lost it. And having a left footed player on the left could allow him to play some crosses into Hojlund, who I think would be a much better fit in this squad over Rashford

Onana in Goal. Yoro, De Ligt and Martinez as starting CB's. Maguire as back up to De ligt. Dalot RWB and Malacia LWB. Mazraoui an option for RWB/RCB rotation. Shaw an option for LWB/LCB rotation. If you want more attacking inverted WB's Diallo and Garnacho. CDM's, Ugarte/Casemiro (holding) and Bruno/Mainoo (box to box). I think in this 352 system Casemiro would be okay holding as he will have the middle CB pushing forward and sitting next to him in a double pivot. CAM I'd have Diallo and Garnacho first choice (inverted CAM's) if Mazraoui/Dalot and Shaw/Malacia were overlapping WB's. However, if Diallo and Garnacho were starting as more attacking (inverted) WB's I'd start with a right footed RCAM and a left footed LCAM. In the inverted, attacking WB system RCAM options would be Garnacho, Rashford, Mount, Bruno and LCAM options, Diallo, Zirkzee, Antony, Hojlund. At Striker Utd have potentially 4 options, Hojlund, Zirkzee, Rashford and Wheatley. I think my first team selection if all were fit would be.. Amad diallo should be the first name on the teamsheet. As a sunderland watching him for us, he's probably the most gifted player I've seen at the club in 20 year. Granted, it was in the championship, but that is a good league with a high standard, and amad was the best in the league by a mile imo, him a gyokores. As a portuguese that has been following Sporting, a lot of you pundits are strangely disregarding Dallot for some reason. Amorim said in the interview about going for full backs for now, so you decide to include a prone injured player vs an international player that is able to go fast up and down the pitch like Dallot? You guys even mentioned how it's important for Amorim to collect data but also to analyse who's the right fit for short term choices. Of course Dallot will play on the right side and Mazraoui on the left.

I think rashford could be a great shadow striker playing alongside Bruno behind the striker but otherwise, I can’t fault the lineup. My main opinion is that malacia isn’t good enough and shaw is too injury prone so I’d be cutting my losses and looking for new left wing backs. Leif Davis would be good, alphonso Davies is obviously a big name signing, etc…

Seems like people dont understand what Amorim likes and prefers from his players. Mazaraoui fits better as a wide CB than a defensive winger. Because Amorim uses Defencive wingers, not fullbacks. Dalot can fit, but not mazza. Rashford is probably the first one on the choping block. no way he gets to start in the best 11 unless he can do a wingback role. Poor from people that say they have studied and looked up. and from Man utd fans.

I agree to everything, except Martinez, Mazraoui and Shaw. Instead of Martinez there will be Evans and Mazraoui switch to left and Dalot plays right. So Mazraoui can help Evans on left since he is more technical than Dalot. We need to sell Rashford, Only survives coz he is British. The worst money we pay along with Antony and Casemiro.

A lot of things seem farfetched to me. Diogo Dalot is one of United most consistent players at this point and he seems like a good fit for the RB role in this system, certainly a better option than Mazraoui. Garnacho has great characteristics to play in a mezzala role as midfielder that cuts to the line with frequency. And i would much rather see Rashford instead of Luke Shaw as LB in more offensive games, that seems to make more sense than putting him as a 9. He has already proven that he doesn't play well in that role, from what I can tell. To me that would make much more sense in the 3 center back formation.

I don;t see Shaw as the season-long wing back even if he is coming to full fitness. The physical requirements of a proper wing-back are too demanding on a player of Shaw's profile, and he'll be back on the physios bench within a month. He has a lot of potential as a Left Back in the three, and Martinez isn't exactly renowned for his long term fitness, especially after a metatarsal which is one of those injuries that is prone to recurrence, so United need to hope their injuries don't coincide too often. Bruno's creativity will become better once he is back to having 10 players around him who know each other. It's no coincidence that his prime creativity tallies with stability in the 11, with last years weekly rotational system absolutely banjaxing his ability to see a run before the player started it. No one knew what they were supposed to be doing from one match to the next.

Ive been very hesitant to comment on the INEOS team however this is their first manager/coach so lets see what they do together as a team..Ruben has vocalised to Neville that he and the board have a very strong level of communication... no matter what happens in his first ten games or even first season we must back this group of management and board members to get very close to top 4. As we stand now we ae only 4 points adrift having had our worst ever start to a pl season lets hope that top4 dkesnt become impossible too fast..

Mount has got to plsy surely, a perfect fit, I think we are going to dominate possession with him, Mainoo & Bruno. I like Harry as the middle CB, as his main fkaw is turning like an oil tanker, but De Ligt is not too much quicker ,plus Harry is a rare leader. Rashford a good punt up front, for him and Utd, interesting to see if he's still jewellery laden court side at the Nicks when he's playing for Sporting after being part of a player + cash deal to get their striker in - Rashys msin issue is not growing up with a father, I know people may ridicule that but is it true, i believe it is and I'm afraid he needs to first understand then overcome as otherwise he'll be topping up the tan in Lisbon, which may be best for him in many ways.

Maguire and Evans would not be good to amorim's side. In sporting all the CB are very fast this year, so these two would not be perfect. However last season Sporting had Coates, who is not fast. So maybe they can play there
