He got a lot of criticism but he was easily the best manager United have had since Ferguson retired. He won two domestic trophies and the Europa League in his first season and then finished second gaining 81 points with a relatively average squad in the following campaign. That period seems like a golden age compared to their current sorry state.

It’s is a prophesy. If Xavi, Kompany and arteta are all pep disciples then Jose is a disciple of Newcastle great Sir Bobby Robson, and it’s meant to be that Jose goes up north and continues the legacy and story. Jose always talked about managing Newcastle one day cos of Sir Bobby and how nice would it be for the full circle of Sir Bobby and Kev. Keegan coming so close to trophies in the 90’s and 00’s that Jose the prodigal son should go up north and finish what they started.

I am NUFC since 16, now I am 36 and live in Leicester. Difference between Leicester and Newcastle is that LCFC have had 20 great players in thier history but somehow atleast 8 or 10 of them was in the side that won the league. NUFC have had without a doubt atleast double the great players Leicester have had. But unfortunately we have only 1 or 2 in every season. You cannot win a league with one or 2 great players. If we can keep Gordan, Tonali, Isak and our goalie and get another 5 or 6 great edition like Mianoo, mitoma, enchiso , mateo retegui, Connor Gallagher , Eze, Mateta, kamada, furuhashi and Charlie Adams. If we can get 6 or 7 of these players next season and get Jose the season after , We could be a strong candidate for atleast top 2.
