@mysteriousgames69 that's what we thought about city but turns out money actually buys good players good mangers and good infrastructure, it also buys the best youth players. Money will always be helpful in growing the size of your club, but you have to win first and use the money for investment, not the other way round. If they get away with it, then all clubs should be allowed to spend and do what they want.

We know why it's behind closed doors, it's so no one sees any dodgy money changing hands. Man City obviously don't want to be found out, the PL don't want to be called out or have their reputation as a competition pulled into question. This will work like a plea deal essentially, where there is a public punishment for people to see. Man City get a slap on the wrist, the PL maintain their "control" over their competition and fans are none the wiser, or at least that's what they think everyone will think after it's all said and done. Either way, -10 points to Everton.

Something that needs to not go unnoticed. City did win a dispute recently against the premier league for being unclear about their sponsorship rules when it comes to ffp and reporting their income. The other is Etihad airways became a publicly traded company which is a big deal. They had to be vetted by all sorts of international financial groups to get the ability to go public on the stock market. You have to turn over EVERY piece of information financially to become publicly traded

There's a huge difference between failure and not being able to compete due to the ridiculous amounts of money you spend. Same with chelsea, you bought the league. Why do you think newcastle can't spend 1billion every window or the fact villa can't sign a player worth more than 100m, because we're doing it to the letter of the law unlike some. I remember 1 week after your takeover you wanted kaka for 100m. That was 2008. Proper teams build success and use the money for growth. Not the other way round. You cant just buy infrastructure and poach the best youth players and claim them as your own just because you bought them for unlimited money.
