Real got him for a reason. He may not have been a Galactico, but he did the job on the pitch that Real wanted him to do. Every single game 💪

I must have been one of the very few people at the time who wasn't surprised at all that a big club would end up going for him. Despite his tough tackling hardman persona his technical ability was deceptively good. He had quick feet, slick close control, could pick a pass and he brought alot of mobility to the centre of the park. As an Arsenal fan i can say that anyone who watched his game closely at Everton could see that he was a very gifted footballer.

Gravesen was not a bad player and was really solid in his day. He did well with Everton, while in Real Madrid he was fine until managerial changes and tactical shifts ultimately cost him his place in the team (his training bustup with Robinho did not help as well). Not many people can boast playing with the likes of Figo, Zizou, R9, Raul, Beckham and others, and not to mention he is also successful with his investments. He truly lived a hell of a life, if you ask me!

Mentally I think he lost some of his grit and fight at Madrid, being surrounded by cultured and technical players he must have felt that he should do the same, he did improve technically but I think it would have improved the squad if he just went about being a danish gatusso and not the strange hybrid midfielder he became at Madrid.
