These days, when Jack has a one-on-one, he seems to hesitate a bit more than before. Too much thinking about beating the defender. He has to decide on the course of action much quicker and execute it without delay. That's it. That is what Savinho is good at. It may or may not work, but when Jack hesitates, the defenders are given time to square up to him and deny him the avenues he would like to pursue. Sometimes, he just has to go for it and sometimes just dump the ball into the box. But there is one quality that Jack has that City do not really take advantage of. He consistently draws a lot of fouls, often at or near the box. If Man City were ever to excel at set-pieces, as Arsenal have done, Jack would be invaluable. I, for one, wishes that they work it out and he stays.

You are right about everything but those fouls most of them are unnecessary, some he waited for it to come, and some if he forget going down and take the ball forward, it could help than throwing himself on the ground for a foul. If the ref didn't take it seriously and it lead to opponents attacking and score it not a good idea. He likes throwing himself too much and right now refs don't takes most seriously, getting fouled for a team to take free kicks are not reliable of helping the team.

@@free7816 I too am not a fan of the diving that is rampant in the sport, but he teases his opponent to the point where he gets drawn in and inadvertently fouls Jack. The ref has no choice because it is a foul, even if we don't like the tactic. But it does give an added dimension for attacking that other clubs would love to have. If you're having trouble breaking through a defensive wall, this could be a way to resolve it. But I agree that it would be far better to do it right, through a deliberate attack.

The Kalvin Phillips commentary is a rewrite of history. To be sure, I just watched back an interview played on Sky Sports where Pep talks about Phillips. Rodri was suspended and Stones and Akanje played ahead of Phillips. Pep said he had to apologize, because (to paraphrase) the player has good character and is doing what I ask of him (in training) thus deserves to get minutes. But when Pep visualizes the upcoming match, he diesn't see a place for Phillips. For that, he apologized. In this case, he hasn't said a word about Grealish's character or training.

Savinho, Doku, Grealish, Bernardo Silva... all have one thing in common. Lack of goals. If any of them produced say 15 PL goals per season they'd be in the team every week. Now it's just a case of who does the little things better... e.g. Savinho's cross for Haaland's fiest goal - neither Gealish nor Doku can do that on their weaker foot. Always thought Grealish should stay as a midfielder, he's never been an winger.

The fact that there are 2 players in one position in a squad, and only one can play, should not be criticized here, because it is like that in the better places. Even ManCity is the team with the fewest footballers in the squad, specifically there is only one Haaland even in the forward position. You have to look at how many teams in the Premier League have 4-5 players fighting for a single position, and in ManCity there is a starting player and a substitute player in this position, this is normal.
