Darren Lewis needs to give himself a head shake. One game, where yes, mistakes were made but we pushed Tottenham to the edge and we saw some fantastic progression made in the team, most, if not all United fans should be hopefull. The point is, everyone tried, constantly fought for their team mates. Rashford hasn't been there for the team for nearly two years. It's not a one game blip with him, it's a train wreck over two seasons
@louisadu-amoah15045 сағат бұрын
I am surprised Darren is actually happy that Rashford was not around the team during the Tottenham loss. It was rather a loss for Rashford because that loss never felt bitter in our mouths since we saw a committed group willing to die for one another and the badge. I will take performances like that which show signs of progress over blip wins with bad attitude which will catch up with us. There is progress and Rashy should be worried he is not part of he building blocks.

Compare Rashfords hunger, desire and attitude on the pitch to lets say Amad. Amad runs. Amad actually gets close and closes down the opposition. Gets his rewards for said attitude. Everyone praises him. Earned his money. Now look at Rashford. Never closes down the opposition. Just jogs towards them and slows down giving them ample time to move the ball on. Tries and fails to dribble past a defender. Loses the ball. Throws his hands up and slowly turns around and jogs back. He just couldnt care less. He's been like this for years. The goals he scored in that freak season or two just papered over those issues.

Antony hasn’t been great because he’s struggled to adapt to the English game but as a United fan, I’ve never questioned his work rate and effort, he just struggles with the English game. Casamiro has struggled with fitness at the later stage of his career but hasn’t really had that many bad gamed, definitely not as many as Rashford over the last few seasons. Rashford effort levels have been woefully at time. Solskjear tried the nurturing approach, Ten Hag tried he tough love approach and Rashford downed tools and got both the sack, so speaking for most united fans, we’ve had enough

There is an issue here, as there are many players who are not performing, yet they are not being mentioned. For 2 seasons now Man Utd have made it clear certain players are surplus to requirements, Rashford, Sancho, McTomminay which causes devision. I do get Darren's argument. If United were flying at the top of the table people wouldn't be talking about Rashford. But he isn't the main reason why they aren't top of the table. Look at the number of underperforming players like Antony, Casemiro, Mount, Zirkzee, Eriksen, Bruno, Hojlund, Dalot. Then the rarely available ones like Shaw, Malacia, etc. If you want talk about his salary, fine. But ask yourself this: how much would United pay in transfer fees alone to get a player of similar production?! Minimum £50 million! But he didn't cost United a penny in transfer fees so his salary is more than justified! It's simple math and the business of the game!

This situation is straightforward yet deeply nuanced. Rashford's commitment has been openly questioned by Amorim-an action that drew widespread criticism during Ten Hag's tenure. However, the broader context reveals deeper issues. Before Amorim's comments, the fanbase played a significant role in eroding Rashford's confidence, often subjecting him to unwarranted criticism rather than offering the support necessary to rebuild his form. The club exacerbated this by instigating reports suggesting Rashford was available for sale, a move that further damaged his public image following the head coach's remarks. In response, Rashford's recent interview appears to be a mechanism for him to process what he perceives as betrayal-from the fans, the club, and its leadership. His focus seems to be on rediscovering his passion for football in a nurturing, positive environment rather than remaining tied to the emotional weight of his boyhood club. We must acknowledge that our collective treatment of players has had tangible consequences. The case of Harry Maguire is a prime example; while he endured immense criticism, his mental fortitude allowed him to navigate the hostility. Rashford, however, requires a more supportive environment to thrive-a condition that United, at this juncture, may not be able to provide. It’s time to approach this situation with respect and professionalism. Allow Rashford to move on, granting him the opportunity to rebuild his career in an atmosphere conducive to his growth. Simultaneously, as a fanbase and as a club, we must reflect on how we support the players who wear the United jersey. Let this serve as a reminder to foster a culture of encouragement, not only for incoming replacements but for all who represent the club.

"The way you're backing him? Rashford needs to back himself with those performances" - I love this woman 😆

Rashford couldn't lace wright's boots and to compare them is straw clutching. Hes a grown man and should tske responsibility for his conduct i wonder why that guy is going to bat for him so much?????

I agree with that woman, why this young generation always blame others for their own mistakes. That why you start to see Young Coaches talking harsh decisions on players like ENZO Moresca is doing at Chelsea and now is happening at Man u as well.

Rashford has been given enough time on the pitch and enough top managers to learn from in order to kick on and develop properly. He just hasn't done that and hit his glass ceiling seasons ago. Harry Maguire has been treated appalling too but he has conducted himself brilliantly.

You have a scenario where a big club have a new manager that the majority of fans are excited and happy about. The new manager then plays the clubs biggest 'face', in a couple of different positions to try and find a working solution. Other players are quote as saying 'the manager tries to play people that complement each other' ... Then the same biggest face talks to a journalist (behind the managers back) about how he's ready for a new challenge and won't have bad things to say about the club when they leave. How is the new manager supposed to feel? Who does Rashford think he is? This guy can't leave soon enough.

8:59 he's 27, an arm around him? He plays for one of the biggest club in the world he earns more in a week than the fans who pay that salary earn in 10 years, people at the club have been made redundant just before Xmas. He's taken a lot perhaps he should give back

Just cause Darren Lewis speaks slowly doesn't mean he's talking sense.
