That's cool how it reverses direction so fast. Amazing engineering! I want one!

Ours was installed in 2012 by the previous home owners and is still running great. It is installed in conjunction with 15 solar panels and together generate approx. 525kw per month.

I've installed over 120 over these and never had a failure or issue at all. I'm so confident in the Skystream product, that I offer a 5 year labor warranty on the units I install. As far as cost, they typically run around $16,000 - $18,000 installed and the average return on investment for my customers is 5 years for those that have utility bills around $250 a month average. Additionally the federal and state rebates for these units that covers around 45% to 50% of the total cost.

Seems to be very quiet. I bet that was a relief for the neighbors.

I work for the company that manufactures these (not install). I'd be VERY interested to hear how your turbine is performing now, have you had to do any maintenance, have your local utility prices fluctuated, and how the payback schedule is coming along. Thanks!

Can you tell us how the generator is now doing? Are you still seeing the same reductions in your electric bill? Finally, if you wouldn't mind, can you tell us how much you spent altogether for your generator and installation? Thanks

Have you seen the TowerMill by WindEnergy7? It has more output, is a wind/solar hybrid system, and gives you battery back-up in a power outage. This system will simply leave your house in the dark if you lose the grid power. Skystream looks good doesn't it. A friend of mine has one but there's no emergency back-up power from it. Cool video.

Nice job. How far did you have to dig the trench? Does it give you power in a black out when the utility goes down? Nice to have your own power isn't it.

Not true at all. Own one, and installed at least 39. All still working and now they are nearing 5 years +. Not true at all - actually mine is hooked up to my 2 outback battery back up systems to boot.

It's a shame that Skystream is such a problematic turbine. I know of at least 5 units that have quick working within the first two years, and have received close to no support.

I have installed around 50 of these and serviced over 100 this product needs to go back to R&D their inverters and yaw kits can not hold up
