Skytrek, Willow Springs Station in the beautiful Flinders Ranges in South Australia is a thrilling self-drive tour along roughly 80 km of station tracks. You'll see beautiful dry creeks, Aboriginal petroglyphs, drive through thick bulldust and see stunning ridge top views of the Chase Range, Wilpena Pound and then there's the 4WD -ing. in places quite rough and definitely steep in the last few kilometers. Between 2013 and 2019 Karen and I travelled thousands of kilometers around Australia towing two different caravans with our strong and capable VW Touareg 4XMotion. On one of our trips we visited Willow Springs Station to experience their self drive 4WD tour called Skytrek. Come along for the ride.

Thanks Bill Z. Yes, the Touareg is a much under rated 4x4. Unfortunately the don't have low range any longer, so we're in a Discovery 5. It ate Sky Trek the following year.

@@robmorley7041 Yes to bad they didn't stick to the original concept of an off road capable some what luxury SUV. They took the V10 off road racing and did well. Marketing and price killed it in North America. Diesel gate certainly didn't help The European model is beautiful not sure how off capable it is.

Great video just wondering did you have another A/T tyre as a spare? I got the 2013 4xmotion as well but did not want to get rid of the 20inch pike rim so I found 275-45-20 Nadkang A/T to fit

Thank you 😊 Yes I did. The MY13 4Motion had 18’s as standard. They look almost the same as the Pikes Peak 20” on the 4xMotion. I found 4 in AU and had one second hand shipped from the UK! I was running General Grabber AT3. Great tyre!

Hey @david007007007. Sorry I missed you question. The Treg was running on 18" genuine Touareg Karakum wheels wrapped in General Grabber AT3 LT255/55R18. It was a great combo on the Treg. Cheers, Rob
