I think the first graflex with the bubble strip is my favorite as well. I'm surprised they gave the force awakens a glass eye instead of the button to show continuity. I do like the reyflex but I'm surprised by there being no d ring.

You probably get borded with my comments 😅. But a great sum up and information if one want build the skywalker collection. Also since Im an old guy and grew up with ANH those sabers are for me the most important ones. And Im so happy to have learned about those sabers from you channel. And Im glad those sabers are my favourite ones. The ANH graflex, and Obi saber with bubble strip. I love the bubble strip. Thanks and I wish you a happy 2024.

Happy new year! Thanks for all the great content, your videos are the best for detailed walkthroughs of the hilts and various nuances, super helpful for building my own collection. Also great work on the hilts themselves, they look amazing. The Bespin ESB Graflex was the one that really stuck in my mind with ANH a very close second, although this video gives me a new appreciation for the DV6 as well!

12:13 there's a stunt graflex they used, looks machined. I believe it's missing the emitter ring at the top, and the grips are all connected on the bottom with curved edges. I saw that before the movie came out and I thought they redesigned it, I was scared. But it was just for the stunt scenes, they do use the same prop from TFA. Apparently the sequels have used machined sabers from companies who sell high end empty hilts and electronic lightsabers, I remember reading that from one of the companies on facebook after TLJ came out

The ANH has always been my favorite version of the Graflex as well. I’m also a big fan of the bubble strip compared to the board. I would say the Aniflex is my number 2. I know it doesn’t have as much as a history as the rest, but RotS was the first Star Wars I was able to see in theaters and that hilt has always had an impact on me

Not shown in the video: if you want to add it to your collection it’s the anakin kenobi series graflex. It’s essentially a new hope graflex with the washer still on the saber and instead of a D ring you just add a convertec instead

Oh yeh that’s a really nice one! The Graflex Shop have one but it’s a little expensive but definitely unique! Thanks for the suggestion!

@@Sithslayer the thing is though I wonder to make even more accurate what graflex body did they use? Did they use a Roman’s or did they use like a graflex shop
@Sithslayer5 ай бұрын
@@MichaelJLoren84 I believe it was a Master Replicas Graflex. Those are very rare and quite expensive these days!
@MichaelJLoren845 ай бұрын
@@Sithslayer I was just reading the RPF and I don’t understand that why would they modify a semi relic practically when they could’ve just bought a replica graflex like from Roman’s or the graflex shop

Love learning about these. RotS is my fav cuz it was used in the duel on Mustafar which is my favorite scene in Star Wars, honestly maybe in cinema. (If you don’t mind my asking, how do you fund all of these? Must be hyper expensive).

Are you considering adding the graflex variant from the obi wan show? The one where it's shown when obi-wan dug the chest in the desert. But I'm not sure if there are any differences if any, at all
@Sithslayer11 ай бұрын
That one is a MR replica. It’s beautiful but hard to find and expensive. It’s really an idealised version of the ANH. Not actively looking for one but if I happen to find one at a good price I might!

The rivets on your ESB grips are black, I always thought they were silver.
@Sithslayer7 ай бұрын
They are Philips head screws and are black on most of the main belt-hangers. In some scenes in Hoth they are silver. There were many hilts used in this film, both belt-hangers and stunts!

I never knew that this saber existed until last night (as of writing this message) but apparently Luke had a lightsaber in the holiday special. Would you ever be interested in building a replica of that?
@Sithslayer10 ай бұрын
Absolutely! It’s the only one in that family made from a Graflite (not a Graflex). Yes perhaps one day! There’s still so many I’m missing!
@rothgamez10 ай бұрын
@@Sithslayer I really appreciate your content. Because of you, I was able to make an accurate ESB Graflex and fulfill my childhood dream of having Luke's lightsaber. I'm not sure how well known his holiday special saber is so I don't know how tricky it would be to replicate, but if you can pull it off I'd definitely enjoy seeing it.

Wouldn't Anakin's Episode 2 lightsaber count as a Skywalker lightsaber, even though it doesnt survive the film?
@Sithslayer7 ай бұрын
Technically yes. But then we’d have to include all of Vader’s and Luke’s sabers too. What I mean by the “Skywalker saber” is the one made by Anakin in 3 and passed onto Luke in 4 and 5. That version with the bunny ears in its many variants is often called the Skywalker Saber since it was used by both Anakin and Luke (and Rey!).
