Slip, if you have him followed and whistle "Attack my target" on the egg, it will pick it up. and apparently, there is an exploit to over-cumber(with wood or w.e) him so he can't move and leave him on wander. He will stay in same spot and provide egg boosting.

Hey Slip learned a trick from someone on how to set the Oviraptor to wonder but keep it from moving. Just load it down with rocks so it can't move. Still set to wonder but exceed the carry capacity so it is just stuck there making all the little ladies ovulate.

A thing u can do instead of making a pen is putting the tranadons in a circle with no gaps so that the egg bait can't get out and put egg bait in the middle on wonder.With the ouncy so he can't get out and the tranadons still lay eggs.

Slip you could just make a 1x1 pen for the oviraptor to chill in near your dinos and set it on wander (similar to the taming pens you have) and have it influence your dinos that way instead of making big pens for them.

As far as I know through my own experiance, the Ovi needs to be on follow and wandering (although follow overides wandering) for it to pick up an egg. It can only pick up one egg at a time and it does not get put in its inventory. It can only pick up eggs from wild dinos. Try testing if the increased egg laying mechanic even works on mateboosted wild dinos, and if the Ovi automatically picks up the egg.

hey slip u might need to test and see but im pretty sure the feeding troughs are bugged at the moment and aside from berries meat eaters will continue to eat out of a feedimg trough even if it only has spoiled meat in it or nothing as long as you dont access the inventory of the feeding trough.

This is why I love mods. Either Joan's Egg and Poop collector or ARK automated will collect the eggs for you, and that is amazingly helpful on SP, since you are going to get less eggs than MP (unless you spend all your time around the base). They probably removed the feature because it got overburdened so quickly, and they don't have a way for you to have it drop the eggs off in a container yet (probably the cause of the delayed release too).

Hey slip why not make your taming pen into a funnel like structure... that is if you can place ramps on fences. I was thinking make a floor with foundations so it's flat place the fences then put the ramps on, one ramp should suffice, and for aesthetics you could make a dual fencing kind of thing. What I mean by that is underneath the top edge of the ramp(s) place another layer of fences (walls, window/door frames if you can't place ramps on fences) but leave the space in front of the inner doorway (visualize an airlock system where people decompress), or just place pillars underneath the ramps. Sure the first idea would look like a box within a box but it'd an awesome funnel box for stuff and things. I think wood or metal would look great for it but I'm unsure if stone fences would due to just how thick they kinda look, obstructing the view of what's inside, but it could work. Just a thought I had that you could do as a little mini project. thanks for laughs

Make sure you fence in all your cliffs. Softis almost lost their pair of Oviraptors over the unfenced in section of their place. Giga Eggs are almost instant perfect tame for Oviraptors.

Based on the dossier, I don't think they will cause tames to lay more eggs. They seem to boost the unfertilized egg laying of wild mate boosted dinos, but for tames only decrease the time it takes them to lay fertilized eggs (hence no icon above scorpions.....yet). If that's wrong and they actually do increase egg production in tames, you can overburden them and stick them on wander to keep them put.

The Oviraptor can be used to steal eggs from wild or enemy dinos. Whistling attack my target on an egg will cause the Oviraptor to pick it up and bring it back to you. from the wiki ; )

All you have to do is fill it up so it is overweight so it cant move. Put it on wandering, it will still give the egg laying boost and it wont run around.
