Great video and thank you for posting. I just bought a 2006 SL M113 and will do this procedure my self. The only tip I could pass on would be pouring the fluid into the reservoir. If you invert the the can(as shown in the video) so that the spout is on the high side of the can, more air can escape faster and the pour will be more controlled. As you get ~ 75% empty rotate back so the spout is on the low side again so you can extract to the last drip.

Excellent video. My Dad has a 2006 SL500, me and my son put a new motor in it last July and now I'm going to replace the front passenger ABC shock and flush the fluid. My dad's retired, so thanks for the help in saving him some money.

Overall good video and much appreciated. I would've removed the hose first, so when pull out the cap and filter your not forced to bend it at angle. Inverse for putting the new one back in is not attach the hose first as it allows you to put the filter/cap back in straight up and down without unnecessary flexing. Having said this, I haven't done it..yet.. :)

down mark is when engine is on and hot,fluid is in the sistem so normaly is more donw on the stick mark,and when off/cold is the upper mark on the stic because is not under pressure
@alexandros13012 жыл бұрын
hot or cold, it doesnt really matter. dont get confused with the engine oil. the important thing is if the engine is on or off.. clearly this guy's german language career ended sooner than he thought

Hello my Friend Thank you for a great video!! I do have a few questions. I have a 03 SL500 that the front left dips after a few days. My mechanic says it’s the valve block that has possibly some debris letting air out ( no hydraulic fluid seen on floor) Will this flush help this. Also how many times do you raise up and down car while you drain fluid and add fresh. Thank you for your time
@caonaboruiz4 жыл бұрын
If debris is the root cause a flush may not correct an obstruction in the valve block, however more often is due to a nitrogen leaked accumulator (check the obd codes). The rodeo (up and down) is performed during the flush until either the new fluid is coming out in the drain hose, or after 6 or 7 quarters filled in. Good luck.

He bought the tool but did not use it. It is not made for this ABC. Note he only took the end off and ONLY used the tube..save 150 and just buy a hose at home depot.

Is there any advantage or issue that you see as part of the flush procedure releasing the pressure at the bleeder screws at the struts? I am a tech starting to learn about these systems. Also curious what the pressure in the system should be KOEO, Is it normal for the pressure to bleed off to 0 bar when turning off the engine. I suspect a bad accumulator on an R230 and leaky valve blocks as it dips on the right side overnight. I do have critical level and system pressure codes in system. Thank you.

Yo are great man. Thanks a lot for the video. I have some questions to yo. When i shut down the car front right side goes down for 5 minutes. After 1 hour front left also goes down. I raised the car and saw on the right strut little bit wet.i cleaned all this and i check everyday its clean now. MB service says that i need to change VALVE BLOCK THIS IS common reason. I wanna change all the valve block seals. There is so many seals in markets. Is it useful for this!? Where can i get the original seals?

thank you and your wife very good video helped a lot :) I have S350 W221 my driver side makes very loud creaking noise when I go over speed bumps will this help?
@caonaboruiz7 жыл бұрын
Not sure, because root cause may be other parts. When ABC system is failing you'll see symptoms all over the hydraulic system. Need diagnosis to determine root cause, however schedule maintenance of ABC system prevents lots of problems.

Looks as if you just use the elbow on the AGA tool cause at mark 2:25 i cant really tell cause you have it covered up a slight movement i see the black hose i believe is attached to elbow at marker 0:34 that AGA tool looks long but all i see is the elbow at marker 2:25

Yes, the end adapter didn't seat well inside the reservoir, so I connected the elbow to the return hose.

If I can't afford the fluid (just lost my job), is it worth replacing the filter or is that useless without new fluid?

That is actually what mercedes says to do. that the 3 micron filter will do the job all by itself cleaning up the old fluid. Fwiw

so does that mean some new oil gets wasted when you circulate the old fluid out and add the new one while the old one comes out????
@caonaboruiz6 жыл бұрын
viktor mentersk Yes some may flush out, unless you can notice the difference in color thru the hose and stop the suspension actuator immediately.

I had the same question. How do you know when to stop pumping out the old fluid if you're simultaneously pouring in New one. Aren't they mixing
@deananderson6444 жыл бұрын
@@MMAFan20 To me, yes you are wasting as the fluid might mix, but that's how it is. At one point the oil turns green, that's when you know the old fluid is flushed out
