If the weather is warm, and it looks like it is, I use topwater lures for Smallies almost exclusively. Don't be afraid to fish shallow also. Top water Smallmouth fishing is probably my favorite. Unfortunately here in Michigan I have to wait a few months for warm weather. Nice job again guys!

Fished this river my whole life. I grew up 2 miles from where you put in. 😂 Anyway if y’all still do this go up to the James River and float it. Massive Smallmouth in that River!! Great video. Brings back memories 😢.

Next time try the New River through Giles County. Where you were is good too.They really like Ned craw lures and basically any Ned rig at the dam where you were. Also Texas rigged Z-Man goat!
