Should have been a much better interview than this crap, it was supposed to be about the 50th anniversary of Merry Xmas Everybody, instead it turned into a Dave Hill me me me me fest, the two hosts weren't much cop either and only mentioned Merry Xmas Everybody ONCE. We all know the stories of recording in a hallway in a New York Recording Studio Dave Hill's mad stage gear, his fringe and John Lennon, it was a pathetic interview which frankly should have been left to either Nod or Jim!

Slade rocked. They really did rock hard. Thing is, they postured nearer to commercialism and show business rather than in the arena of the rock juggernauts such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC and the like where they could have so easily been a part of. They had the songs, check out the albums, and they were all accomplished musicians. They did well sure, they were never really taken seriously, but with a Peter Grant style management Slade could have so easily been one of the rock world's super giants.

Typical ITV. “Get that bloke from Slade on because it’s the run up to Christmas - but don’t give him too long”. Another box ticked, now for the chance to win a prize that no one has any realistic chance of winning and after that, more reality nonsense. You could almost hear the producer in their ears.
