Laughed at around the arena when originally announced as late additions to the weekend...booed on the day before when they announced they were replacing Ozzy Ozbourne at short notice!! Showered violently with two pint cans of piss when they came on...chants of eff off..as they tuned up... and against a barrage of anger Nod came up to the front of the stage crouched and started to strum ...more cans now they had an easy target...thankfully none hit him..OFF OFF OFF..contined the chants ..he went to the mike.."Weer gonna rock yaaah...weer gonna fuck yaahh up..weer gonna rock yaah..weer gonna fuck yaah up...weer gonna rock yaah weer gonna fuck yaa up....ONE..TWO...,ONE TWO TRREEE FOUR!!!...BLAAAM..and with their usual sneakiness..they grew in power and volume and energy throughout their entire set...and pulverized us all..Greatest year for Hard Rock Ever at Reading and the old codgers blew them all away....never ever forget it...Whispering Bob Harris was screaming into the pa system after their set two encores and boos filled the arena when told they wouldnt be time for a third.??!!.now theres a rarity for Slade..only 2 encores??..heh heh heh..
