I have seen the original Slade a few times as ive been a Slade fan for over 50 years last time i saw slade was December 1982 at Hammersmith Odeon and they went down a storm like they always did but i have never seen these guys and i NEVER will EVER they will NEVER replace Noddy, Jim, Or Don.

I don't think there is anything wrong in carrying on with a change of singer. A number of bands have done it with success. I really enjoyed Slade with Steve Whalley and then, to a degree, Mal McNulty, despite the screeching. However, having fired Don and introduced the pub singer on the keyboards, this not only sounds awful but looks rediculous too. I'm looking forward to hearing Don Powell's new band but wouldn't spend any money to see this lot and have my hearing assaulted.

Dave Hill (guitar) left his pub band, & took Don Powel (drums) with him to form The 'N Betweens. They had a singer named Johnny Howells, when they auditioned Jim Lea (bass, guitar, violin, some keys, & pretended to play some others). Noddy had just left Steve Brett & The Mavericks, when Dave asked him to join The 'N Betweens for the second time. This time he said yes, which made them five members. Johnny left, & the band recorded a number of singles, starting in 1966. 1969 they sighed to Fontana Records who changed their name to Ambrose Slade. Chas Chandler (Animals bass, Jimi Hendrix manager) became their manager. He suggested they drop the Ambrose, & cut their hair to become skinheads. Anyway, the point is that this has always been Dave Hill's band. He hires, & so he fires. I believe he only fired Don, & (according to Jim), in a meeting with Dave, Don, Jim & Noddy, Dave brought up the idea of reforming that group of Slade, & Jim said he would if Noddy would do it, but Noddy would have none of it. So Jim wrote the music & Nod wrote the lyrics, so they still get royalty checks. Dave & Don had to support themselves by playing live. Time for Don to follow Ringo's lead.

I have been a Slade fan since the very early 70's, I heard them before I saw them, there image was ok although I was never really into the glam look to me they just sounded so different and they rocked. Personally speaking the way that Dave Hill dressed was rediculas and cheapened the image of Slade. In my opinion he made them look like a gimmick band and distracted from the really great music they produced. He is now making Slade look totally rediculas with this tribute band because let's face it that's what it is, shame on you Dave.

Это ужасно . Слушать невозможно My oh my одна , из любимых песен , из репертуара коллектива в 80 Для меня Слэйд это Нодди Холдер и Джим Ли . Они были лидерами группы . Надеюсь они возобновят отношения между собой . Пускай они даже не воссоединятся , как это сделали Смоки , но нормализовывать отношения нужно Джим избегает вопросов , о Нодди . а Нодди обвиняет его в своем уходе , из группы . Это не нормально . Если , что то и было , то виноваты оба . Нодди собрал коллектив в 2011 году , из этого ничего не вышло , а теперь пошел в атаку . Выяснять отношения , через прессу .Это не выход . Ведут себя , как дети Такое впечатление , что Нодди хочет , чтобы их рассудили поклонники . Так нельзя . Лидерам группы просто надо поговорить между собой . Отпустить все , что было Джим записывает песни с различными музыкантами . Конечно хорошо , что нашел себя , после распада коллектива , но с разборками надо заканчивать . Эти разборки не закончатся , если лидеры группы не поговорят , между собой , без прессы , отпустят все обиды и будут общаться между собой . Ведь они не чужие , столько лет были на сцене , были соавторами . Надеюсь , что первый шаг сделает Джим .
