In the seventies I met all the band... they are fantastic blokes every one. I saw em at The Wolverhampton civic on home turf... What a night that was!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, this song charted in 1972. This clip is also not from Disco in Germany.Well not totally true, Disco purchased this clip back in the 70's from the BBC, as this clip actually aired pfirst on Top Of The Pops, of which the BBC later wiped this performance, but as was kept in the Disco program, survives for us to see, many thanks Garmany for saving what would of otherwise been lost to time. Just awaiting the discovery of Slade performing on Top Of The Pops 1970 " Shape of Things To Come".

This song was my first introduction to Slade and it still sounds as good forty years later. One of the best rock and roll songs ever written. Slade is right up there with the best.

So I'm sitting alone one night watching these guys sing this song on some "Night Train" type program and my dad comes into the room and says "How can you stand this shit." It was the first time that I'd ever heard him use that word. He never swore. And I look at this stuff now and think well, you know he was actually right. Happy Father's Day Dad.
