Slade at their most heavy metal-lest. Raw, blisteringly loud and crushingly heavy. Superb.

"Sometimes you get a little high and wish you'd never been born..." I can't imagine Whitesnake ever having the wit to come up with that line :)

Slade became more rock oriented in 1981/2, they went down a storm at Reading and Donnington festivals. Unfortunately live success wasn't replicated into chart success after We'll Bring the house down and this single.

This was my favourite era for Slade. They were adapting to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal trend which was happening at the time. However, after this I feel they tried to capitalise their reclaimed popularity and appeal to a wider commercial pop market. The songs became stupid singalong anthems throughout the 80's. They should have kept their raw edge from this era and toured with the metal bands at major events.
