Hi I am slasher, and this is my way of playing Lina Support. I rarely see Lina being played as a support, but with her very high range, decent damage and almost 4 armor, she is really good at harassing and trading hits early on, and with her recent buffs deal a bunch of magic damage mid game. She even has the potential of transitioning to a semi-carry lategame, if you have a good game.
I prefer playing her as position 4, and start of with wards, 6 tangoes, 2 branches, blood grenade and 2 mangoes. If my safelane has kill potential I will go there in the start to try kill their offlane,
For items I rush arcane boots, and then Aether Lens. I would say Aether Lens is core on her, making it way easier to hit her stun and other spells, and also allowing her to stay farther away from enemy heroes.
After Aether Lens you have many choices: You can go for a more support oriented build with force staff and perhaps meka if your offlane havent build it, or you can get atos into Glepinir both for the root and the damage on your fast auto attacks. If your team lacks disable going Glepnir is not griefing at all, and as long as you build Atos first your team will probably not complain that you are a support that wannabe carry.
For skill build, many players take a point in Linas passive early. I prefer to max Dragon Slave and Light Strike array before taking passive, for the extra damage, longer stun and reduced cooldown on both spells. I max the stun first.
For the level 10 talent I always take the reduced Dragon Slave cooldown, and then for later talents I decide depending on what I need in the current game.
In lane try to wait for the enemy to go for last hits, then stun them and hit them a bunch. Use your long range to your advantage and just hit them as much as possible. Lina is very good at making it a hell for your opponents in lane, in many matchups.
I really like how low cooldown both her normal spells are, and teamfighting with her is a dance trying to land as many of those spells as possible, without committing before the right time.
Also if you have liked my guides through the years, I would really appreciate if you wishlisted my upcoming game Behold Battle. It is a auto battler where you try to guess which of two armies will win, and you can also build your own armies in the sandbox mode. There is a link to the steam page in the description where you can wishlist the game.
