We joined a ski club last September. I’ve been free skiing since I was 9. Same ski since early teens, now 37. They convinced me I needed a new ski. Got a D3 Arc. Felt like my old ski, comfortable, does what I tell it. With a lot of coaching from other members I got through the course. Once. Cant manage it again. Getting tons of slack as soon as I go around a buoy now. I’ve been doing a lot of listening to what they tell other members. Sounds like you ski 15 and 22 off differently than you ski 28+ off. If it’s skied so much differently, why does everyone start at 15 off? On the same note, why not 0 off? The one time I got through the course I had so much space for buoy 6, I was looking for the next buoy. I feel like I’m just getting started skiing by the time we’re at the end of the lake and have to stop. Pretty frustrating and hard to practice anything. Is this just something I have to get use to? I feel like I need to go free ski a lake to figure out how to ski again!

Thanks tons Joel. I really appreciate the feedback, that is very helpful. The ski I'm on here is a 2018 Radar Senate Lithium. I actually love the ski, but yes, it does kinda bounce like that, but I think I've likely bounced kinda like that on other skis. My guess would be that it's probably mostly a me problem, but quite possibly compounded by ski or settings thereof. I'll have to work on keeping more even weight on my feet and see if that eliminates or reduced the bounce. If not, who knows, maybe it's time for different settings or even different equipment. I'm curious on your spoiler alert that you would recommend the GT-R. I suppose I thought that this ski wasn't for 15 off guys at 34 mph and even down to 30 sometimes on my opening pass. If it's not too "high-end" for me and might have a chance to help me get through 15 off more often and maybe even deeper into 22 off, then I ought to head that direction. Our ski site is indeed pretty nice. Thanks for the compliment. It is at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains on Utah Lake, managed by the Utah Waterski Club.

@Joel - I am in the same situation, and wondering if I should consider GTR. I am currently 15 off @ 32mph and 49 years old at 200lbs with 20 years of "improper form" experience. Current ski is a 10 year old Carbon V. Should I look at a new Carbon V, or move to the GTR? Many thanks as always, as I am a huge fan of your knowledge, spirit, and work ethic! Congratulations on your continued success! -Kent
