Aaaah Slam Dunk, so many nice memories about this anime.

It's an old anime that's been around for almost 30 years, but I was in junior high school at the time. I was in junior high school at the time, and the baseball team had been the most popular club activity in Japan for generations, but with the influence of Slam Dunk, the basketball boom came, and the basketball team was just as popular as the baseball team. I was in the midst of my adolescence, and I remember that this pure rock with a hint of youthfulness was sensational at the time.

I find the artwork of Slam Dunk more beautifully drawn than many later anime. I love the character designs and details down to their expressions that went into it. I highly recommend you check and react to this masterpiece of sports anime that single-handedly saved and revived Basketball in Japan at a time that is was dying out. Not only does it have great character arcs/relationship developments but it's one of the funniest most hilarious shows I've ever seen! This show had me laughing out loud in stitches so many times. It's funny and very inspiring!

I am watching it right now and so far it is really good. Even though I am not the biggest fan of sport anime, Slam Dunk just hits different. Very beautiful anime so far!

@@onionexperience2738 Also true story: my cousin used to be this skinny indoor geeky guy but after watching Slam Dunk he was so inspired and got passionate playing basketball that next time I saw him after a few years, he transformed into this tall 6'4" muscled six packs ripped athlete basketball player, I almost didn't recognized him at first! Slam Dunk touched, entertained, inspired, and transformed an entire generation.

i really ❤ Slam Dunk and its 1st opening! i watched a "cleaned" version of Slam Dunk in my language's DUB (Arabic) when i was a kid, and althought the lyrics are different it still got this very 1st opening's rythm and melody which is so beautiful.. whenever i hear it, really too nostalgic for me, makes me reminisce the past every time!

I remember this show like 17 years ago it was airing on TV, it didn't get all that popular like Dragon Ball for example but it's one of those nostalgia shows that gets you back to the good old days uwu

My top 3 realistic sport masterpiece 1. Slam Dunk 2. Haikyuu 3. Eyeshield 21 Slam Dunk is a phenomenon back to 90s, it affected people in East Asia to start playing basketball. The anime was not fully getting adapted, the best part is the last arc in the manga which made it become a masterpiece. It's a pity that few people know it nowadays.... By the way, the ending songs are really good, you may give a try.

Ace of diamond/ Diamond no ace favourite sports anime. Everything about it is written as realistic as possible and the mc is one of the best underdogs. other than that Ashita no joe and Ping pong I love as well

1:58 there are a lot you could do with photography back then, by photography i mean the stage when people start photographing painted celluloid sheets, thats the stage where you add special effects like that. There is a lot of stuff like that in older anime. Just like now you can add effects trough cgi post processing you could do that before with various clever tricks by manipulating cameras. Water like that was very common in anime directed by Osamu Dezaki, a very influential anime director, and photography played a big part in his shows. This isnt his show, but it very inspired by his style.

you should react to 'Ashita no Joe' opening it is very old one of the most iconic Anime in Japan from year 1968! it influenced the whole industry of Anime/Manga as well as the Japanese press they take the MC Yabouki Joe as their very icone!
