Sometimes I feel like I go months without KZbin showing me a shacktac video and then all the sudden I get recommended a new video 10 minutes after it happens lol.

The start of this mission stirred up long lost memories of a big European cycle camping trip I did back in the late 1970's. The bugs in Norway were next level compared to the UK. Even with bug spray we were spending the night in our sleeping bags, fully clothed plus shoes with jeans tucked into our socks and bug repellant all over our faces and hands. Woke up the next morning with a load of bites around my ankles, the little sods had got me through the weave in my socks. Once we'd cycled south into Sweden and Denmark the bugs were no longer the main problem. Passing though northern Germany toward Holland and our boat back to the UK, we hit a huge NATO exercise. Huge convoys of transporters carrying Leopards, Chieftains, Marders, etc would mean we had to keep getting off the road for safety. A rude wake up call at 7.30am one morning as four Luftwaffe F-104G's flew over the tent at what seemed like 100ft on their way to the ranges over the North Sea. The loudest thing I've ever experienced, and I've seen Zeppelin and Sabbath in concert. It was freakin' awesome...

Your comments about bug spray reminded me of a situation I found myself in on an exercise in Germany, my infantry section was ordered to hold an area right next to a stagnant lake, as dusk fell it was swarming with skeeters and peeps were getting bit left right and center. Being in the "British Army" we were never issued bug spray so our section commander told us all to don full NBC suits and respirators, we still got bit through the layered material of the NBC suits lol

Considering the terrain you were defending, way to go, excellent work

Hind tail rotors only take 4-5 hits to get the pilot fighting it until the fuels gone, but usually lands ok. Not saying it only takes me 4-5 rounds fired to do this, but it is awfully rewarding. Good mission, epic ending!
