Slam, Pressure at The Arches, Glasgow, 25 June 2010 for www.eqtv.dj

We're back at The Arches in Glasgow for Pressure, and it's a special night -- no guests, just Slam in one big room. Just like the good old days...
We've always been big fans of Slam here at EQTV, but at the moment Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle can do absolutely no wrong in our eyes. Over the last six months, their sets have just been getting better and better, finding exactly the right sound at the right time and sending every floor they play out to nuts. So it was a treat to hear that they'd be taking over Pressure for one month, playing out to the Glasgow faithful without the help of any big-name guests. They also rejigged The Arches for this bash, setting the venue up like it used to look for their Slam nights (the predecessor of Pressure). And with the boys dropping classics and up-front belters alike, this was a night to remember. And we also managed to sneak along to the afterparty, where Orde took to the decks for a spot of illicit early-morning action...

@@1jonblaze Mitsubushis £10 a pop 🙏I used to go the slam nights every Friday, then sometimes 69 in Paisley on the Saturday, usually had the fear about 6pm Sunday. What a fucking nick to get yourself into. Walking out at 3am freezing cold soaked in sweat. Those Slam nights mid 90s were unbeatable. Mind having to have a word with yourself in the queue because sometimes you were coming up on the way in and the bouncers had an eye on ye 😂 good times.
