This is a popular technique with board games now due to Awaken Realms creating a similar technique called Sundrop. Quick and easy way to get some detail with little effort so you can play the game sooner. I've used a technique using Speed Paints first then doing a drybrush, and another one that came out like a marble technique.

I've seen comments on some other videos that it's better if you dilute the wash/contrast/ink/etc paint a bit rather than using them full strength.

For bone just wash it in sepia wash, it works well enough and you probably have some already I really gotta try and paint a whole force in this style

try using a liquitex titanium white heavy body acrylic for the final dry brush step. It's amazing!

Ha, I figured this out by just muddling though and experimenting! Instead of dry brushing though I just do a light directional second prime spray with white. Then it's just contrast paints and very thin base paints! If you want a Warhammer Fantasy grim dark muddy look you can lower the amount of white and the contrasts will look filthy as they pass over the more prominent black patches. This gives you the "pop" of contrasts on white but keeps the dirty mucky look of a peasant who eats three month old potatoes every day

I don't have any of those fancy new paints but I tried this with very thinned down acrylics. It sort of works for the highlights but for contrast I'll need to add a wash.

Just use acrylic gel medium and flow improver. That's basically what speed paints/contrast/whatever is. You can control the translucency better if you do it yourself versus using pre-mixed paint right out of the pot. That way, you can do something like tinting or shading by just adding more medium. Or you can make your paint behave more like contrast.

Just a side note: I got turned on to using museum wax to afix models to a painting handle or cork. Works great.

Sometimes super glue on clear surfaces makes a hazy white area nearby the contact points... what type of glue are you using for yours that makes that not happen?

Bit of money saving for you. You use Tamiya Extra Thin, did you know that Tamiya Airbrush cleaner is exactly the same product but a 5th of the cost. I bought a 250ml bottle for £12 and use it to top up my Extra Thin bottle. If you don't believe me (which I won't blame you if you don't) just goggle it.

What's the superglue you're using? Do you not find it frosts the clear bases a bit?

Have you even considered priming white, adding a black or brown wash (such as Nuln Oil or Seraphim Sepia), then painting contrast over that? Anyway, this is a decent way to paint minis.

with the white primer and dark wash you got a nice contrast but you are missing the "shadows effect" of having a cenital light. I mean it works but its a different kind of painting

I actually do the zenithal highlight, then a wash or two, then a final pass with white where I pick out the areas I want to be really bright. If you go over that with glazes (like contrast paint), you get really smooth transitions and a wider variety of tones.
