Thanks. I've actually put off painting any figures mostly out of fear of messing it up badly. Odd phobia. But I take some encouragement from your simple to understand presentation and willingness to try something new. Boomer also has a presentation on figure painting but much more advanced and intimidating 😮. As expensive as cork is I would be more inclined to use an old rag but someone more skillful apparently believes cork is the way to wipe your brushes. I'll try out the technique you just shared. There may still be hope for me 🙂.

Thanks John. You really nailed the main reasons I do this channel - To inspire people, and to show you don't need to be an artist to get good results. I'm no expert, but I think the biggest mess-up you could make is to use bright, opaque colors. Like I used to do lol. As far as the cork, I just happened to have some. But they say not to use a paper towel, as that removes moisture as well as paint. Apparently, you want a little moisture when dry brushing, idk. Thanks for the comment, and good luck with your painting. And have fun! Take care - Bill.

Very cool! As both a model railroader and someone who has dabbled with painting minis for D&D, I love seeing crossover technique videos like this. So much of what I know about weathering comes from military/armor modelers. Back to wargamers, Ive got the whole set of speed paints from army painter, and I’ll definitely be trying some of the techniques from that world in my model railroading too. Great stuff!

Thanks John! I'm brand new to this style of painting, but I really like it! I just got the starter set of speed paints. Not sure I need more for model railroad figures. I subbed and will be lookign for your figure painting videos. Take care - Bill.
