Take it from someone who used to go camping alone: A tent is only good to keep you dry. If something wants in, it'll get in. I was in the Shoshone National Forest one summer camping as far from civilization as I could get. If you've never been in the mountains at night, let me just say that it gets darker than dark. The only thing you can see are the stars. You can hear the wind blowing through the trees, which is very calming. At around 3:00 a.m. something with a very deep voice woke me up. It was most likely a bear, but his nose was sniffing and grunting just inches from my head. Had he decided to rip into my tent, there was nothing to stop him. All I had for protection was my buck knife. He sniffed around for a few minutes and then left. I slept in my car for the rest of the night.

This actually happened to me like the last video my mom bought a trailer for 1000 it was really beautiful and had brand new furniture in it the woman had just died of cancer and her grandson who was only 17 had to sell it but it was a good experience my life has been really rough and I went there and every day when I was down I would feel someone sitting down next to me like they're trying to comforting me I always felt a really good presence it helped me through a really hard time in my life.

Screaming in the middle of the night, or walking around for no apparent reason with or without light is not exactly what most people would consider normal behavior. That would freak most people out in the middle of the day and city even.

The goat definitely saw the person or whatever it was. It stayed at the edge of the road looking all over the place like goats normally do(I raise them.) until it sees the person and it keeps its eyes on it and goes to the other side of the road. Goats are normally nervous of people unless they are raised as pets. If it was just a statue then the goat would not be scared.

I was camping with three friends in Michigan's Upper Peninsula when we had a super creepy encounter. We canoed to this tiny island with nothing on it but a little stand of trees in the middle, and set up our tent. We had a nice evening, put out our campfire and went to bed. But in the middle of the night we heard what sounded like halting footsteps around the tent. There are no animals on this island except insects and birds, maybe some rodents, but this sounded big. We all woke up and turned on a light, only to see the imprint of a hand pushing on the side of the tent from the outside. We all shouted in fear, and the hand slid along the side of the tent before disappearing. We quickly exited the tent to see who was in our campsite, but there was NO ONE around, and nothing nearby to hide behind. There is no way someone could touch our tent then just disappear, no matter how fast they ran. Nothing else happened that night but we decided to leave the next morning.

Story 1: I was once walking in the forest. It was around 2am, and I think it was summer night. In middle of the pitch black forest track, I suddendly realized that someone is maybe walking behind me, but I wasn't abble to see anything clearly because it was pitch black there - and I just saw a little movements from time to time when I was looking behind me, and when I stopped and listened I was hearning a clear footsteps. That really creeped me out and I continued walking calmly. Some time later I came to the wooden bridge next to the train track - There is lake next to the bridge and the bright moon lighted the area pretty well, so then I noticed that I wasn't wrong and someone really was walking behind me as I saw a black figure walking maybe 100m behind me. I continued walking a little bit more thinking about my next move and right before the track would have turned back to the pitch black forest, I decided to stop and wait to that person to walk past me. This felt like an eternity when I was looking at this person when he was coming closer and closer, and I was thinking in my mind if I did the right decision. The person was having some hiking gear and was breathing very heavily. I think he was maybe just having a hike, and was maybe as scared as I was in this situation. I then waited couple minutes more and then I continued walking to this pitch black forest - but clearly I didn't go to the same direction than this person went. _________________ Story 2: One winter night, I was walking in the same forest area, next to the train track - it was maybe around 00pm - and while I was walking there I noticed that someone is standing in middle of the snow area without moving. It was pretty open area and snow was reflecting the moon light so pretty quickly I was sure that someone is standing there. I continued walking without taking my eyes out of this person, and when I was pretty close (5~10m), the person suddendly started to walk towards me. I said "hello" - and the person stopped without giving any answer. I continued walking calmly and watched many times behind and the person just continued standing in the snow without moving..

I was putting the chairs up on the tables to mop, ripped off a fingernail in the process, went to get first aid, came back and all the chairs were back down. Then the jukebox turned itself on. Then the TV turned on. I got two glasses, yes full glasses of Jagermeister, sat down and said "This is your big chance to show yourself. I need this job, I'm not leaving, c'mon!!" Thank god nothing showed itself. I drank both those glasses just to get through the night.

Working the night shift alone can be terrifying. I used to work alone in an office building at night and had some very weird things happen. The scariest thing was the night when I was working in a different part of the building that I normally did and I heard a female cough right outside the room I was in! I came out right away, looked around and even said hello a few times and nothing. I ended up checking that entire building, even the bathrooms, nobody else was there. So glad I no longer have to work there!

I used to do security at night in a construction site which was located next to a very old abandoned school for special needs kids(which I also heard didn’t treat the kids very nice) which was surrounded by fields and woods. I worked there for about 1 year. I used to hear faint kind of crying sounds but I just rationalised it as foxes but one night when I was walking around the building at the furthest point from my cabin I plainly heard kids playing in the dead of night. Some were laughing and some were crying. It was the most eerie unsettling laughs and cries I ever heard. I felt a shock up my spine. I was like Usain Bolt. I ran to the cabin grabbed all my stuff, locked the cabin and the gates on my way out of the site. I didn’t care if it got broken in to . I called the site manager the next day and told him. When I drove past a couple days later there was a demolition crew in destroying the school and boy was I glad to see it gone.

I think it is peculiar that one of the most famous stories about Box Hill is about Major Peter Labelliere who was buried there upside down. People don't avoid a situation because they happen to be filming it, they avoid it because they're not a moron and they don't want to die or put someone else at risk by calling for help and putting our find hart working paramedics at risk of some meth head who couldn't handle his drugs out in the woods partying. Furthermore, giant predators like tigers and mountain lions specifically imitate sounds of humans or primates screaming in pain, to lure prey to hunt. So good luck investigating every human-like scream you find, when a cougar pounces on you in the dark because you think life is a movie and you're gonna be someone's hero.

I know pain, don't worry about that. I have seen people being in trouble screaming, they did not all sound the same. Police and medics are there to help when needed. And a person on meth in the woods could be a real threat to other people out there, campers. I asume a person that lives around mountain lions and such can tell the difference, but in that case the guy of the video would be acting fear. Happens a lot too, just for the video, could be one of his friends screaming around. Could be a peson in need. If you are not sure, you are not to decide, it is for police to decide. I live in a city in Europe, I hear a lot of screaming. I always make sure or there is not somebody in trouble. Often it is a girl screaming her lungs out, that just sits with a guy.. not sure or it is these days way of impressing a guy. But it could be a girl being raped, that happens too.
