Totally screwed the pooch on mixing today.

Damnit man. You'll get it next time, brother. Try a heavy-duty corded drill for mixing.

Easier to manually mix with round nose shovel in a contractor's wheelbarrow (NOT garden type), Don't use your upper arms so much, just push shovel (face down) using body core strength in long direction of wheelbarrow towards the higher pour end. keep it low. I do it all the time when too lazy to lug the concrete mixer around to do small jobs and then clean it all.
