Like an aunt should be. I don't really agree with the "they coul've easily made her a jerk" I don't think we would be talking about Aunt Slappy in 2023 if that was the case. 30 years later. Good character writing just has to exist. In some level. Even if it's a kid show. Slappy is skippy's aunt, and no aunt or uncle is gonna treat their child niece or nephew with animosity if they came to visit them.

And they did remove Chicken Boo from the reboot, like Yakko said he was the least popular character ever, garbage. It’s just not the same without Slappy, the goodfeathers, Buttons and Mindy, Rita and Runt, the hippos. That’s why I watch the original for the fun of it and to keep their memory alive.

I was too young to appreciate Slappy. I always changed the channel when she was on. Now that I'm older.. I can see now that she was a subversion of old WB classics.
