Great video Richard! Have just been discussing details of that Sherman and couldn't find any images of mine or others showing the top of the turret, this resolved all queries. Cheers!

Nice video, been there several times myself, in fact last time was only last year in May, when I wanted to fly my own phantom but unfortunately was to windy to fly.

I find the best time to fly is first light. The wind is generally at its lowest. It does mean getting up extremely early in the morning if you need to travel to the location though.

Richard Clements 1:22 the houses in the middle of the screen on the cliff, there is a pill box on each side, following the steps up past one of the pill boxes you will find the observation post, up the steps a little more to your right you will see a concrete flat land that was part of the mortar pits, go down an alley behind the house and you will see more concrete structures that made up the old training facility (private land but you get a great view from the steps, go down to the beach and you will the last pill box which has a stream that runs underneath it that comes from the lake behind the road as you come down to see the tank.

Thank you for the info on the pill boxes, mortar pit and observation post. Are you local to the area ?

Richard Clements no I visited the area when on holiday and became widely fascinated with its history, after walking about I discovered the structures and what they were and continued to research the area.

I must go there again and have a good look around. It is only an hour's drive away. Wow!! I just noticed that I upped this video 4 years ago.
