I know people are determined to deny or excuse it because STP are the current "in-thing" in extreme music, but he is very, very clearly entirely lip syncing to the studio vocal track. I'm aware many bands now use backing tracks to fill out their live sound, but that's not what's happening here. It's blatant, clear-as-day lip syncing, and it's not just the cleans but the extreme pre-breakdown gutturals too. I wish people would stop excusing or giving this band a free pass for this shit. Any other band would get ripped apart for it.

You can see on live videos of Demolisher that he lip syncs the pre-breakdown gutturals there too. Alex is damn good, no doubt, but I can't help losing respect for a vocalist that can't sing his most anticipated parts live so lip syncs them instead.

Не могу понять, почему многие пытаются сравнивать Slaughter To Prevail со Slipknot...они разные, как по динамике, так и по вокалу (У Кори Тейлора расщепление таки повыше тоном, не демонично). Ну и, слушая концертные записи Алекса, отвращения нет совершенно. Понятно, что студийная запись ровненькая, красивая, вылизанная. Но "живьём" прекрасно всё слушается. Спасибо

Вы невнимательно слушали запись. Всюду живое исполнение. Послушайте живые ролики Саши и его демонстрации. Есть вещи, которые ему удобно "прорычать", есть и такие, где приходится напрягаться + переход от гроула на чистый вокал не всегда бывает идеальным, отсюда и провалы слышны. Но, если вы считаете, что фанера и сидит специально обученный человек, вовремя включающий куски записи вокала, то считайте так дальше :) Серьезно. Я с вами не спорю. Каждый видит и понимает своё

Theres a few spots of prerecorded vocals here. Probs just end of set/physically exhausted at this stage. Bit of a shame cause the pre breakdown is probably my favourite part of this track. Rather have it pre recorded over being butchered though.

Look, I like this band and they're definitely talented. That being said, it's seriously irritating how much of a free pass they're getting for Alex blatantly lip syncing both the extreme gutterals (y'know, the main selling point of him as a vocalist) AND his clean vocals (which are very simple, easy cleans as it is). It's not even questionable, it's clear as day that he's entirely lip syncing these parts. Not singing along with a backing track. Not using layers to enhance his live vocals. Just clear lip syncing to the studio vocal track. He obviously can't preform those parts live, but because everyone is riding the Slaughter to Prevail hype train, people are either turning a blind eye to it, denying it, or excusing it. If this were any other band, people would be calling them out for it in a heartbeat. People ripped Dragonforce a new one for using studios to enhance their solos. People lost their shit at Dennis from Asking Alexandria for lip syncing some of his cleans live. But no - this band are too brutal, the current hyped-up in-thing or whatever, so nobody says a word about it. Again, I like STP, and they're skilled at what they do... but putting things on a release that you clearly can't actually do or preform makes it impossible not to lose a bit of respect for them, especially when those things that they can't replicate live are the things everyone is hyping up about them in the first place. I know I'll probably get a lot of hate for this comment - insults, denial, etc. - but eh. It is what it is. It bothers me how much people are choosing to ignore STP doing what they would railroad other bands for doing. Hate me for saying it if you want.

He's lip syncing to what's meant to be his most defining and impressive style of vocal. Imagine if a guitarist were to mime their best solos? Of course it takes away from it. Saying it doesn't take away from a performance when a vocalist lip syncs their most anticipated part of is nonsense. Oh, and I just searched for Demolisher live and watched the guttural section of the top three videos. He was blatantly lip syncing to that part on all of them. But yeah, thanks for proving my point that, for some reason, people are so stuck on the STP hype train that they're prepared to defend or make excuses for something any other band would be ripped apart for.

You can disagree all you like...but if you have any real experience playing in a metal band or mixing live music, it's totally obvious they're playing over a backing track. His mic is live and it does seem like he's matching with the track at certain points but on others he's just lip syncing the backing track. I honestly can't tell if the band is really playing the songs at all of this whole concert. I love this band music! But if you can't kill what your recording live, that's a huge no no in the metal world! They'll get boo-ed off the stage bringing that shit to the states!
