Yes, Alex is Russian. This video was shot prior to the current war. He had applied for a visa to come to the U.S. and things escalated with Ukraine right as he was set to make his way. The U.S. halted any travel from the region. He thought his chances of making it here were over, but he got some strings pulled and had to take an alternate route to make it here. He now resides in the great state of Florida.
